That cold jet stream does not look good for most of the U.S.

We are calling for only a high of 35% chance of snow off and on for two hours a day for 3 days.  That is for a 10 day outlook.  Then it calling for 4 days below 32º.

I would say Winter has set in for a long hall this year.  We are only about 800' above sea level.  Our state RT 14 in my area is just over 300' above sea level.  The last time we had snow on thanksgiving was in 1971 that I remember.

Agree. It will be a long cold and snowy winter and yeah, it's been years since we've had snow this early. My poor ranch hand will be busting his ass covering all kinds of crap with tarps so we can find it once it snows, assuming we can find the tarps.

Oh, I remember that 1971 snow, I had just entered the army at Fort Ord, had snow down in San Franfreako.

Well we go about¼" of snow that started Wed. night about 10:00 P.M. until Thur. about 8:00 A.M.  The sun came at noon and it all gone now.

There call for our next snow on Dec. 1 for about 6 hrs.  Then on Dec. 5 it starts warming back up in the day time.  It's saying it will get down to 21° tonight.

Put in a new battery today into the quad, the last one lasted 10 years.  I keep it on a battery tender when I am not using it. I think that's why the battery lasted 10 years.  My neighbor got a case of battery tender and put them on his trucks and cars when I told him that.  He is hoping it will cut his battery cost down in ½ or more over the years.

We got over a foot, but a strong South wind came up and melted it as it fell. Snowed like crazy all night, but stopped at 10" and melted down to two, then yesterday morning it started snowing at 3:00 AM and stopped at 6 we had a foot in that short amount of time.
It'll probably freeze solid and be a pain for a few days unless we get some rain they claim might come.

I didn't tell ya, but I was invited to join the Polaris Group , take a survey for $50.00 so I did, then they asked if I would participate in a test of a new off road tracking device.
This thing is awesome, though they sent me a battery tender as prepayment and that I have to send it back in two months after the test.
It tracks on my Smart phone and shows me exactly where i am in the forest even when there isn't any cell service. It alerts me in the event it's stolen and tells you exactly where it is, communicates with anyone that has one if you add them to your group, has emergency service if you get in a jam.

I'm not allowed to give out the brand until the survey ends, I'll tell you then.

Almost all of our snow is gone due to heavy warm rain, 47 degrees over night when we should be in the 20s.

Well tomorrow Tue. I will be putting on my snow tires.  I think I will need them again for this year.  Two days of snow tell me it time.

Probably a good idea. We just plan on staying put, we have months of food stores, so there's no reason to leave the mountain.
Our biggest problem here is the trees going down and blocking the roads or rock slides, let someone else deal with it.

We are having light rain off and on today.  I see you have storms continuing in your area Solar.  The weather has been very different for the last of Nov. and the first of Dec. this year.  It is calling for light rain for three days next week.  If I remember right it was snow last year around this time.

Yeah, it is raining out there, got an inch and a half last night and two more by Sunday. We got one of those atmospheric rivers that brought a bunch of water, where some areas to the south picked up 8 inches or better.
I love global warming.
