We have had it call for snow 4 times over the last 2 weeks.  Only for about 2 hr. each day.  But all I see is a dusting from the fog in the air, no snow as of yet.  We are getting some rain about twice a week.

Doors and windows open, 51 outside, sunny and beautiful.
Yeah, I have the heater on, but...
I saw where the Governor called for a state wide emergency. Let us hope the winds remain calm so there is no buildup on power lines or buildings.
Deep snow is really cool, but when you add wind, you have major problems.

Fortunately, no wind issue. It was a wet snow so heavy on all the tree limbs. Duke Power does a pretty good job of trimming trees in the off season although some of the tree huggers object.

I don't think that's going to be a problem in Ca anymore.
But yeah, wet heavy snow is a bitch, especially if followed by a freeze. We have them, and roads are almost impassable here in the mountains because roads are so steep.

Turn all their power off for a month and no portable generator power.  Let them burn wood to keep warm.

Well we have been on the South East side of the state now for about 13 years.  Thanks to GW  we will not have snow for Christmas for the first time this year.

But then I guess they need the snow for back East right now.   We are getting snow in the Blue Mountains and the Cascade Mountain Range above 2000' and 3000' so that a good thing for the states water supply for summer.

Yeah, looks iffy here too, though we may wake to a nice dusting from the storm over night, but it will be sunny Christmas day.
Just got another inch of rain over night, and a foot of new powder on the crest.

Solar are you and Toy ok??  They say your area got hit hard.

My boy in Tacoma Washington said they had 70 & 80 mph winds last night.  We only had 20 mph winds, just a avenger day of wind for us.

Yeah, only a couple of issues because we  have a healthy forest, but the neighbors have clean up.
Knocked out my electric gate, I guess the wind pushed rain in, and it's got a case of dementia.

Almost mid Jan.  To date we have had one Hr. of a very light dusting of snow.  Did not even cover the ground.  To day we have a light dusting of icing or it's just the fog freezing and dropping out of the sky.  Most nights are above 32º about 2 nights a week it drop below 32º.  We get most of our snow coming out of the North winds.  But we are only getting North winds about 2 hrs. one or twice a week and that's in the daytime hours.  We are getting rain about twice a week around 0.02 to 0.06" and that takes about 8 hrs.

Heavy rains, then the last 3 days were Tshirt weather, clearing more land and burning,, but today that all changes as a massive storm comes through. mostly rain, possible snow, but most likely at the 5000' level.
Valley has been foggy this entire time.

Weird storm hitting, several inches of rain, wind gusts to 60, but as it comes in off the Pacific, it hits me, and make a virtual U-turn and heads straight for you.
Check the satellite, pretty cool.

Well that was a nice storm, 4 inches of rain followed by 6 inches of snow, all pretty much melted.
But the upside is we'll be in the mid 60s by mid week.

Not rubbing it in to those suffering in the Midwest and East coast, but we'll take what we can get this time of year. I hear you guys may be in for a warm up next week.
