Well out weatherman screw up last night.  It did not call for snow all day long.
Then I check it after dinner, it said it was going to snow for 4 hrs.     So in
under 2 hrs it went for no snow to snow.  It was a very fine light snow and we
got almost a ½" of snow is all.  The sun is out full right now and it's only 28º out
right now.  Sun early followed by cloudy skies this afternoon starting about
2 P.M.
We still have snow on the ground, but it's a beautiful day @ 39 deg. and they're calling for heavy snow tonight and tomorrow.
Problem is, I need to pump water but the lie is frozen solid, so I just ordered 1000'' of Low Density Polyethylene Tubing (LLDPE) so I can at least pump water while it snows.
We were in the teens by 8:00 pm and it stayed that way all night, so I don't expect it to thaw anytime soon. :glare:

Like you, we're getting that cold dry ass air out of the north. I wouldn't mind, but I was caught off guard this time.

Egg on the face of the National Weather Service.
For the past week, they've warned of a serious winter storm headed our way, 3 plus feet of snow.
We were supposed to get heavy snow Wed night, all day Thursday and Friday, and so far, all we've gotten overnight was a quarter inc, if not for the foot on the ground from earlier in the week, you'd swear it was only heavy frost.

Oh, it may still come, but it appears to have stalled out over the Pacific and may move east over Wash and Oregon instead.
Brace yourself Walks, it's damn cold.

Hmm...  I don't even see rain until next Sunday.

But it call for snow off and on for this last week.  All we got was 2 hr. that it snowed about 1/4 inch.

Hell, that was a complete bust. They claimed it would be the biggest snowstorm since 2011, with more than 3' here, though the summit got around 10', we got 2".

We're getting hit with tropical moisture, if it rains like I think it will, the valley will see flooding from melting of a massive snowpack.
Watch the news as panic starts over Oroville dam.
There won't be a snow level, just rain over the highest peaks. The snow pack is 30% over normal, so there's a lot of snow to come down really really fast in the form of flooding streams dumping into the Sacramento River.

Well, we dodged that bullet. Snow levels dropped due to a cold front out of Alaska, wound up getting 8" of rain, mostly snow that melted quickly, but my creeks are raging.
Currently, we have 2" of hail/corn snow and sleet on the ground, but that's melting fast.
So far for the season, we are at 40" of precip, in other words, we could move into summer and still consider this an average season.
Yeah, the whining about the drought continuing is a total leftist lie.

The last three days brought hail, snow, rain, sleet, the whole gambit and it totaled over eight and a half inches of precip, and another inch overnight and still 3 more days and back to snow. I love Spring.
Drought? Pfffftt...

We have 2 days of rain in the last 5 day.  Not much just a tad bit.  Looking for it to hit 70 by Wed. of next week.  This keeps going and I will have to turn on the yard watering system before the end of the month.   The farmers are starting to turning on there circles now, checking for problems.  If no problems they have started watering.  A lot of plowing and disking going on also.

Drought LOL you would think after the dam problem last year.  You would think they would pulled their head out of their ass, and started saving that water some place.   All that water going into the oceans and ALL THAT DROUGHT!!

I think I'm getting everyone's rain, just had another two inches today, more tonight, Thursday and Friday and then back to snow. (60"+ of rain for the season so far.)
Right now, it's 60 deg. outside, warm as Hell. Maybe next week we'll see our first real upper 70s, but then, right back into Winter.
This is what I love about Spring, that, and no bugs yet.

So we're at 15" of rain total from the last couple of weeks of snow and everything, but this week we hit the 70s and I don't even have the spray rig set up yet.
Right now, it's all pretty and green, but by the end of the week it'll all damn near be a foot tall, that's how it does up in the mountains.
So if I take my time like I usually do, it'll be out of control within a week. I only have about 20 to 30 or more acres of steep terrain to spray, odd considering I only have 10 acres, but that's the true measurement of mountainous land if you were to lay it out flat.

LI love this time of year, but I despise the summer prep.

Worked on the yard watering system for the last 3 days.  It would not run the water cycle.  Ended up getting a new program control for the unit.  So got that going late last night.  Then fertilizer the yard with 3lbs as it was going to rain almost all day Saturday and it did most of today.  I will have to change out four sprinkler head this year, and adjust 4 up about 2" to 4".  So I will bring out the John Deere riding mower and check it out, as I know I will be cutting grass before the end of next week.

Day time will be in the 60's and night time in the 40's, with one or two more day of rain in the next 7 days.  G/W will be coming for us next month.    Most everything has been planted for 50 miles around.

We were experiencing summer temps the last two weeks, so I set up the sprayer to take out the weeds, when we got hit with what they refer to as an atmospheric river of rain the last two days out of Hawaii.
The rain was warm enough to shower in, which totaled over 4 inches in 24 hours.

But at least I'm ready to battle those weeds tomorrow.

Oh, and I got rid of the lawn, sick of mowing over vole holes, those things are ankle busters. :glare:
