Well there is 16 fires in Oregon state and 6 in Washington state.  But the air has been good of late.  We have had good winds in our area, with fires over 5 to 6 hrs. away.

We are looking for some hot days in the 100's off and on through mid September.  That is typical for us around this time a year.
We've had a reprieve from the heat, in fact, I doubt we'll see 100 again the rest of the year.
We're already getting a taste of Fall.

I am not ready for Fall yet.  Give me 3 more months then start Fall.  Two or three weeks of Fall then right into Winter.

Me either, I'm right in the middle of restoring my campsite down at the creek so we can do some Summer camping.
I was trying to clear out a bog that's always been a bit of a quick mud pit, so I dove in with the 4x4 tractor, got down about 4' and found two springs feeding it, so now, like it or not, I have a 20x 30' new pond.
That was never part of my plan, I just wanted to get rid of the low spot and the mud, but with 3 gallons per min pouring in, it was easier to just make it a pond....

My neighbor has 3 spring coming off the side of the hill doing the same thing on 3 acres.  He made two ponds  one about 40' round and the other about 10' round.  The spring go into the big pond and then he drains it into the small pond then it drains into the culvert under the road into the river.  He has a 6" PVC pipe running between the two ponds.  The pipe is running half full almost year around.

This was all done before the government took over all the water.   The dear and wildlife love it.

Mine will dump into the creek about 30' away, I'm being careful not to dump too much muddy water into the creek, because it could yeild huge fines.
I've seen trees make a bigger mess when I pull them from the creek, but Ca is a joke, they look for any excuse to steal money from you.
When all is done, there will be a 6" poly pipe feeding a green area as a filtration system for the creek.

Taste of early Fall. Leaves starting to fall, rain/thunderstorms and lightening and 58 deg.
So kicking back running my new heat and air minisplit system, I lit a cigar, noticing I was low, I placed an order to Florida.

WTF do you mean hurricane Irma is coming and UPS is delaying all flights? It's not even close to Florida?

Now it's personal Irma, you bitch!!

Woke to 49 deg, now 51, cloudy and cold, love it. Probably see a high in the 60s, warming late in the week, but looks like an early Fall and even earlier Winter judging on how far South the storm track has been running since mid summer.
Looks like a real snowy and wet Winter again, only colder this year.

65º night time 90º right now.  The smoke is like fog it is so heavy, visibility is about 1 mile.  They say   the smoke will start clearing out Friday around noon.  We will have some wind coming up Friday 13MPH working up to 18MPH on Saturday.   We have had only 1 to 2MPH for the last week.  Most the time we have 5 to 10MPH.  But this last week there just been no movement.  I think we can kiss our 100+º good buy for the year now.

Yeah, the front is passing by as I type, high of 75, currently 58, tomorrow cool of 79.
But we did get a reprieve from the smoke the last couple of days though, but the humidity after the rains was crazy wet, like a walking steam room.

Yes, the heat finally ends as Fall begins. Hard to believe in less than a month It'll have be woodstove burning till late March.  YUCK!

The wind just pick up to 14MPH and will be that way for 2 days and then jump up to 18MPH for about 8hrs.  Sunday about 9 P.M. it will start slowing down to normal.

Though reality may vary wildly, here's an extended outlook for my area, though take between 5 to 10 degrees off the top of most of these highs, and probably 5 to 7 colder on the low side.
I live but 10 miles from this area but my temps are always cooler by several degrees.

Here's yours. Again, more reference to historical averages than anything, but interesting none the less.

We're finally down under 30 active fires and the smoke is receding, or at least not staying in the mountains.
With a good chance of rain next week, and temps falling into the 70s there on out, we may just get all these fires out before Oct.

Yeah.

The rest of my post disappeared.
Anyway, it's a great prog, but it just doesn't seem to capture wind speeds on the ground, though it does get direction correct.
Damn, did it again.
Anyway, it shows why the smoke is staying away from me, I'm getting downslope winds from Tahoe where there isn't any smoke.
Yours looks like you too, got a break from the smoke with an on shore breeze.

I think my link was messing up my post.
