About 4 A.M. it was 52º out.  There was a big clatter of thunder and it started raining big drops hard with wind.   Then it turned into pellets of frozen rain falling for about 5 min.  The hail stopped and it was just rain. Then the wind started picking up and it has been blowing it about 30 mph most of all A.M. gusts are 42+ off and on.

A good day for staying in side.  LOL  So I mixed up a big recipe of chocolate toll house cookie my wife likes.  That should last about 3 to 4 weeks.

I had essentially the exact same system 4 hours earlier. Lightning hit right outside the house, but luckily it was raining so no fires.
Needless to say, I got little sleep, then awoke to food poisoning (Sushi the evening earlier) and have been off all day so far.

Snowing like crazy, if we are sharing the same system, you should see a shitload of snow overnight.

Well it was raining ice at 40º from the last system.  So I guess it could snow at 40º over night.  It's calling for 2% chance of rain.  I will put my snow shovel back on the deck.  There will be 50 RVer down in the park that will be unhappy if they get up in the A.M. and there is snow all around.

I did look out side at 3 A.M. and there was no snow.  It was 37º outside.  This keeps up and I will need to cover my Tomato's and lettuces again at night.

Well it ended after a couple of hours,  got down in the 20s and the high today is 49, which is unusual considering crystal clear skies.
Well, now I have to get dressed and go spray some more.

Sunday looks to be rather interesting. Look how it's tapping subtropic moisture all the way up to the Aleutians.
This could turn out to be an interesting storm.

It's starting to be that time a year.  The front yard is at 56º and the back yard and deck is at 95º.

Looks like the 30º night are now gone for the year.  Don't see anything below 40º at night for the next 10 days.  Grass is greening up nicely from the Winter.

Have not had to start watering yet as we have had rain off and on every other day or so.  Most of it falling over night and one or two hrs off and on day time.  I did cut the grass on Sunday for the first time this year.   Will need to trim some lower tree branches this year.  As I keep running into them when cutting the grass on the riding lawn mower.  That or start using a hardhat when cutting the grass.

I'll still see 20s at night, but the valley is already in full on Spring, fields 3' tall grass.
Today is thunderstorms, and apparently, the next two weeks are the same but I'm good with that, keeps the bugs down for a while longer.
You'll need a hardhat, I'll need a beekeepers outfit.

  At 7 A.M. my back deck temp is at 100º and my front yard is 43º.
Grass is all green and the trees are filling out.  Will need to cut the grass
today as the fertilizer has kick in big time with all the rain.  It's only calling
for a high of 70º today but in the sun it will feel like 80º+ out.

Fishing must going to be good as there are 15 boats on the river this A.M.
The Park down below has been full the last two weekends and I am sure
it will be this weekend also.  They have 50 RV hookups that they upgraded
to 50 AMP.   So now they have 20 30 and 50 AMP's at each site.  Most of the
RV campers live within 75 to 100 mile of the park this time a year for a weekend
getaway.

Hit 80 Deg. this afternoon. God knows I'm glad I was able to get ahead on spraying, you could see the grass and weeds growing.

We hit 62º today but in the sun it feels like 75º.  I turned on the yard watering system this week and the grass is growing big time.   I had to cut the grass three time this week.

I'll never cut grass again, I killed off the lawn for good, turning it into a garden.
The valley is supposed to hit 90 today, and we still have all this residual moisture hanging around from the winter, it's gonna be unbearable down there.
We cool off this week and expect a few more showers, and one more snow for the Dogwoods, then winter is over.
If we don't get a drying North wind, it's gonna be a humid spring...

We just went back to Winter nights and Spring days. Been freezing the last couple of nights, with daytime highs in the 50s, perfect working weather, no bugs whatsoever, I think they froze off, but they'll be back next week when we taste our first days of Summer in the upper 80s to possible 90s.
I just hope it's as dry out as it is now, we've had 7% humidity, I love it.

I see you've been experiencing somewhat the same weather in your area, with just a few more clouds.

We have been in the low 60's daytime and very low 40's night time with some rain off and on one or two days a week.  Starting 5/19 we are looking at be in the 80's to 90'.  But I don't think we are out of the wood's just yet.  Have had some winds at 30 40 MPH off and on this last week

Cutting grass every 3 to 4 days in-between some rain days.  Rain days are not much just can not cut the grass.  I water everyday from 4 to 6 A.M. but I can cut the grass by 2 or 3 PM as long as it does not rain.  This has be a wet Spring for us this year, but it's helping the dry farmer up on the high ridge above us.  As it is Mothers day it means it's the last day of freezing weather at night for the grape growers so they say.  They have been right for the last 11 years that we have been on this side of the state.  They will be clean up the smudge pots this week and checking the out for next year.

This is the size of smudge pots they use around this area for apples a grapes.
