We got some rain about 0.05 in 24hrs.  Wind top out at 36 mph on my wind gage.  My hearing aids made it sound like a 747 on take off, when I am by a window.   It cleared out most of the tumbleweed.
Did you see this shit?
In all my years I've never heard of wind near 200 mph in the mountains unless it was a tornado.
Hell, I bet it blew snow well into Nevada.

Now is see why we got over 35mph winds.   Have not seen a tornado in the mountains.  Have been in one very small tornado once in my state.   We don't get many tornado in our state and if we do there small and don't last long as the hill stop them from getting big. .    We do get a lot of dust devils in my area.

Same here, we get tornadoes every year, but they barely qualify. Ripping off roofs, breaking up trees, making kites out of carports, usually more like severe downbursts affecting 5 or 6 houses total.
Winds never amount to much over 100 mph, but to see steady near 200 mph over the mountain tops means the jet stream actually touched down.

bOY IS wUNDERGROUND SCREWING UP ON OUR FORECASTS WHERE i LIVE.
Snow again, with a temp of 23, they predicted 34, and tonight I know we'll be pressing the teens and still, they claim we'll be in the 30s.
I don't know what's been going on with the modeling of the weather, but everyone has been wrong the entire week, were even wrong when they called for three straight days with 5" or more a day of rain.

But looking at the extended forecasts for my area, (if they're right ) they're calling for solid Spring weather, and that's something I'm not quite ready for.

The system that's over you right now is the one that's supposed to bring us snow tonight.
Is it all that cold and are you getting snow from it?

It is 37º and we are getting some snowflakes now and then.  So it must be very cold way up high.  it's calling for 44º today.  Tonight it's calling for as low as 31º with less then 50% chance of snow between 11:PM and 3:AM.  It look like after Monday A.M. it will only be rain for the next 6 days.  Starting Tuesday night we will be in the mid upper 30's at night for the week.

Hmmmm, so it is cold after all. I thought their forecast was weird because they're calling for snow tonight and by weeks end the 70s and spring weather.
I am soooo not ready for Spring yet and all the weeds that need to be sprayed as well as lawn prep, garden prep, winter clean up.
Nah, I prefer the slow move into spring, where you get a lot of breaks before full blown Spring.
I'm pretty certain our Winter is about to come to a screeching halt, with little in the way of serious storms from here on out.
It happened the last two times we had heavy snowpacks where they skied till August, Winter ended abruptly in mid march.

Went to bed and it started raining, rained all night, awoke at 3:00 something and still raining, about an inch and a quarter, made coffee, turned on computer, checked satellite and radar, went to bathroom to take a pee, came back 3 minutes later to an inch plus of snow.
Damn, that was like some type of time warp it happened so fast. One minute it was 37 degrees and raining, a couple of minutes later it's 31 and snowing like crazy.

Looks like it will continue all day. I told Toy we're taking the Razer out, she said you seem awfully confident I'm going, I said as the sun rising in the East I am, now get dressed, we're going.

I think Spring is on me tonight will be 33º the night temps start going up very slow.  Day time will 45 to 50+º but in the sun it will feel like 70+.  I am moving flowers out side.  It calling for rain off and on over the next 10 days.  So I will hold off on the yard sprinkler system for 2 or 3 week.  When I get the water on I then can get the fertilizing done for Spring.  Then back to cutting grass every 3 or 4 days.

I wore cowboy boots because I didn't plan on getting out, but I never planned on that much snow getting in.
As soon as I hit the brakes, all that snow slid straight down to my feet, then every snow ladened limb I clipped, unloaded it's bounty as well.
I really like to get the full windshield, but I just know the first time it rolls, there goes a grand.

I guess we're not having that early Spring afterall, awoke to a few new inches of snow and still falling.
Sacramento only warmed to 53 yesterday. At this time last year they'd already had 19 days of 70+. This year: 0
