Beautiful day in Dallas.... bright sunshine and temp near 60 degrees.   A light jacket works fine.

Do people in Texas know how to drive in the snow?  What Dallas gets about 15min. of snow every year.

No, they don't know how to drive in the snow!

Last year we had an unusually harsh winter with three or four snows (3 or 4 inches) and a couple of iced over days.  We were totally homebound!

When we see a few flakes of snow in the air, the schools immediately shut down and get those kids home.  School bus drivers can't handle the snow either.   :scared:

This winter we may get no snow or ice.  It has been much milder than last year and we all love it!

We are winter wimps.

  I learned to drive a vehicle between West Glacier and Kalispell Montana in the middle of Winter.  I had the farm tractor down pat, buy the age of 10.

I drove our 45' motorhome through blizzards and -7 degree temps.  It all went with the lifestyle.  Never liked driving in snow but the northern States are good about clearing the roads quickly.  One time I drove over 100 miles behind a snowplow because I could not see the edge of the road.  The only way I stayed on the highway was by tailgating the snowplow!

Yeah, that was one of the scariest moments on the road for me.  It was a white out blizzard.  I was driving the 45' motorhome and towing a Jeep Cherokee.  It all happened very quickly and I could not safely get off the road.  I was trapped.  It was very eerie.   I was crawling along the highway... no other traffic... when the snowplow came up behind me and went around me.  I quickly fell in behind him all the way to Grand Rapids, Michigan.  I was a nervous wreck!

Arrrgh, we did that one time on the way to Tahoe. It was a nasty blizzard, we came up on the plow and rode his ass for over an hour, we thought people were nuts for passing us because we were safe behind the plow, of course he was throwing slush all over the car, but we trudged along at 10mph anyway because we weren't in any hurry.
Then suddenly he pulled off the road, we looked out and saw that the sky was clear and sunny, had been for quite some time.
Boy, we must have looked like complete idiots.

     That is too funny!!

I assure you that was not the case with us.  No one was passing us either.  It was just us and the snowplow on the road.  I would have loved to have stopped but it was impossible!

I sure was glad to see Grand Rapids!!  Then I could see the roadway again and find a place to park!
