Snow yesterday, froze overnight down to 22 deg and crystal clear out.
Pipes didn't freeze, considering we hadn't really done our winter prep, I was shocked.
Guess winter is solidly here. :glare:

I guess we has snow for about 20 min. yesterday also the ground did not even turn white.  (can I use the word white   )  Hit 26º last night and clear out also.  The moon looked full and the river was lit up like a Christmas tree, with the moon light bouncing off the water.  My back yard was lit up like it was only 4 P.M. at 10 P.M.   Did all our winter prep two weeks ago.   Look like we will be moving back up into the 40's Wed. of next week for a bit.

Same here, with the moon reflecting off the snow, I got up to see if I left the outside lights on.

Like in "Twas the Night before Christmas"

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.

The next full moon will be Dec. 25th

Soooo true.
I remember one year when the ground was covered in several feet of snow, and the full moon so bright, I had to walk with my had under my eyes to keep from being blinded from the reflection off the snow.
One of the most bizarre views I've ever experienced.

Mid day brightness at midnight.

  Winter is on us, we got 2" of snow over night.  My have more coming today.  But it will be 40º on Thursday and 49º on Friday.  Trucks down below look like there going about 30 mph and not 65 mph. so there ice on the roads also.  After today there calling for 40º and up to 50º off and on for the next 10 days.

Friday I pick up 100 lbs. of bird seed, that should last for the month.

This morn was the first day I awoke to 40, it's been in the teens all week.
Rain today, tomorrow and back to cold clear freezing for the next week.

Boy, you sure must like your birdseed.

The good wife thinks the birds need feeding from Dec. to mid March.
She is not a tree hugger  but she likes her birds.
There about fifty birds that line up on the fence each day.

Ohhhhh...For the birds...
I used to feed the birds, but the Stellar Jays got so bad, they started raiding the dog food, 40 lbs a week, and I bought only the best.
Now all the birds suffer because a bunch of winged welfare rats ruined it for everyone.
Isn't that just like libs?

I have a Conservative bird feeder.   :tounge:   If more then 3 small birds get on it, it will close up for there weight.  If a big bird like a Stellar Jay get on it, it will also close up from it's weight.     :sneaky:

Where did you find that bird feeder that closes up?

I feed the dove, cardinals and blue jays but the bigger birds like to come and take over the feeder.  It really irks me!!  :cursing:

I would love to find a way to expunge them from the buffet!

Home Depot or Lowe's??

I don't think so.  Call around the pet stores.   I found mine at a Thrift Shop for 2$ about 8 years ago.     My wife looks for old sewing material, as she makes quilts for the kids, grandkid and great grandkids.  I get to look at the junk areas for killing time.   As they say one person's junk is another person treasures.
