We're expecting a winter storm later today or tonight. After November 15, any year, it's expected.

Still perspiring down here in Florida.   Geez, I'm sure glad I didn't retire in Florida!

Saw that, looks like we'll get just a touch of it next week, but luckily not as cold as you guys are getting hit.

A light dusting began about half an hour ago. Haven't looked at the radar/regionals to see what's going on later. Fortunately, we have the snowblower working and a broom if it peters out like many such things do, first snowfall. I've seen predictions of 8" and we don't even cover a sidewalk.

6" to 8" predicted and snow every hour through at least 16:00 EST today. Blah.

I do like this long-range, though. You and Walks and A-mom should all see good weather, relatively.

Might bare well for you, not so much for me, though we do need the water.
Comparing this to 1997 and 98 where we had amazing amounts of rain, 70" plus depending, they believe this one will surpass that one, and if it follows normal patterns, we'll see several feet of snow at times, and here in the mountains, that means 20 to 30' deep snow drifts.

But we're prepared for the most part....

I don't remember how much rain we got down here, but even the rain gutters couldn't keep up with the down pours.  Wound up using tarps to keep it off the wood French doors and side lights.  Normal rain isn't a problem, but too much is, well too much.

We get enough snow to make it enjoyable for us.  If we get snowed in for two weeks or so it's no big thing.  It's not that we can't get out, if there a need.  The most we get is about a foot of snow at one time. It is gone in less then a week most of the time.

Same here, normal just means 2 days steady rain, sunny for 3 days and repeat, but when it's 5" an hour over 3 hours, our road becomes a creek and washes all the gravel off, and the rock slides make venturing out of the mountains a gamble.
You may get out, but no guarantee you'll get back in, without a 70 mile detour.

I'm in suburbia with pretty good drainage, but the last big el nino even flooded the highest point of our property which is graded downward toward the city sewers.  It would take a couple of days of no rain for it to drain away.

Crazy weather yesterday and today.  Didn't get what they called for.  I'm not complaining at all.  3" of heavy wet snow.  It's was fun shoveling slush all day.  Now it's just going to get cold. But it's pretty all stuck to the trees and anything else.....It will go away.  North border got bout 18" in some places.....

Snow yesterday, froze overnight down to 22 deg and crystal clear out.
Pipes didn't freeze, considering we hadn't really done our winter prep, I was shocked.
Guess winter is solidly here. :glare:
