Looks like we will be above average this year Solar.   We have been in the high 80º and will be in the mid 90's next week.

We will hit 93+ today.  The next 3 days will be 100º to 100º+.   Not a cloud in the sky.

Were having thunderstorms, nearly a half inch of rain in an hour, and generating 60 lightning strikes a minute. And sometimes even more, over 100 per min.
It was nonstop thunder and lightning for about 6 hours.
Poor dog was a wreck.

This so much reminded me of Kansas and Nebraska.

We had a thunder and lightning show last week for two nights.  Along with very little rain.  Most of it was in Oregon along the Blue Mountain Range.  I don't see us falling below 90º for the next 9 days.

Forecasts say we'll be heating up too this week, but when it follows rain like this, that means humidity.  :glare:

It was 85 here today, but Toys car in the valley on the freeway said 108.
Tomorrow more tropical moisture move in from the equator, expecting rain across the state, and more lightning here.
Had two solid strikes on each side of the house last time, no more than a 100' away.

I love this weather in the winter, but this time of year is a bitch with the humidity.
Tonight SoCal will be sweltering as it moves in, 90% humidity with lows in the possible upper 80s? Yuck....

Was in town today and it was 114º at 12:00 noon.  Dropped down on Rt. 14 along the river coming home and it was 101º, up on the low ridge my place it was 106º.  Backyard right now 98º and front yard 110º, humidity a nice 14%.   They say it will drop down to 101º tomorrow.

I don't mind the heat, as long as it's dry out. But 100 degrees with 80%+ humidity and that's just beyond the miserable index.
Today is starting out nice and cool, but looking at the satellite pic, I'm in for some serious humidity, and most likely rain, which is good, I haven't had to water the lawn yet..

Not Cal.  This is the desert area in South/East Washington.  Almost every A.M. my back deck hits 135º+ as the sun comes up and bounces off the river in two places.  So I am being hit by the sun three times all at once.  It's that way for about 2hrs. a day.  It does that almost all summer long.

Oh yeah, the valley breaks 100+ much of the summer.
Remember, Ca is a desert with mountains. But yeah, Walks is in Washington, about 500 air miles to the north of me.

Oh, wow, that is very hot.  We used to get those temps in the Saudi desert but I did not know it got that hot anywhere in the U.S..... except maybe Death Valley.

My aunt and uncle lived in Pasco, Washington.  They both died last week.... five days apart after 65 years of marriage..... sad but probably good.

Are you far from Pasco?
