Cool nights here (35-45 at night, 60-75 days).  Really nice to get out and about daily routines.

I had to cut my grass for the first time this year last Saturday.  It was that or bring in a Swather.

Yep, it's snowing, and the Dogwood is in bloom, and as folklore has it, this is the very last blast of winter, solid spring fro here on out.
Thing is, we've been in solid spring for the last two months. :glare:

We have been in the mid 30º at night for 3 days and 55º day time.  Were moving back up into the 60's day time and around 40º night time now.   We should start hitting the 70's by Sunday

I think Summer is on us.   7:30 A.M.  My spring load thermometer is hitting 120º. on the back deck.     In the front yard it is only 60º, we should hit 80º before the day is over.   Time to bring out all the deck chairs and swing.

They put out the honey bee hives two weeks ago.  So there all over the place.  Nice to see them around, can not say the same for the hornets.  I knock down about 6 hornets nest a year.  They tend to think they own the place once they get established about the size of a baseball.  The good wife being a city girl all her life, took about a month too find out that if you leave honey bee alone they will leave you alone.

Then why do they sting you when you don't even realize they are present??

Hornets cycle here, some years we have none, other years you can't walk outside after eating unless you wash off of the smell of food.
Dog food has to stay in the house, no garbage outside, nothing edible.

But wasps? We have on average 30 or more nests early in the spring, that quickly grow to a 12" pancake if they aren't killed off.
This year I think I'll call the pest guy to deal with it. :cursing:

It has been in the high 70's for the last two week and the last two day has been in the 80's.  The first of the hay was cut last week.  The first of the hay will be raked and bailed and stacked, come Monday A.M.  They will be running four rakes and six baler.  This year will see four cutting around my area.  With it being Mothers day it will be the last of under 35º for the fruit trees and grapes.  There saying it could start raining late Monday night and rain Tue. and Wed. also.  Will be nice for the dry farmer up on horse heaven hills.
