Damn, even with that Pineapple Express going through and hitting your area.  The winds were no help and the rains came later from the sounds of it.

Forty homes were destroyed in a wind-driven wildfire that burned nearly 11 square miles and forced the evacuation of about 150 people in two small California towns at the eastern base of the Sierra Nevada, officials said Saturday.
Yes, the winds were horrendous, and the rains followed, and still raining today with heavy, heavy downpours.
But the snow level is really high, about 8000'.

That should be good for you this summer, with the Artesian well.

No, we need a show pack starting at 4500' and up. My Artesian seems not to be effected much by drought, but more so by heavy wet winters.
It still puts out about a gallon a minute in normal and drought, but as much as twice that in a wet year.
I prefer normal and drought, the water is colder.

Well, kids, it's minus 9 degrees Fahrenheit and -29F including wind chill. Today hopes to get up to a sizzling +4F and we'll be running around in jogging shorts tomorrow, at +11F. Total snowfall relatively light at 16" (I've seen far worse, and earlier.)

  Canadian weather!

Ouch! I know what you're going through, had it here on occasion as well, but at least the skies were clear and sunny.
We will be in the 70s again today, but we really need the snow badly.

You're not alone in your pain, even Floridians will need a heater.

Memo to Floridians. Borrow a leaf from Three Dog Night and wrap yourselves in Cuban boat people.

I'll be barefoot in shorts mowing the damn lawn, in the middle of winter,, no less.
It's spring, because I never hit 70+ this time of year but will today, let alone mow the grass, which is usually covered in snow. :glare:

It's minus 11 this morning, and my mood is so foul that I will sear your brains --- sear I say! --- with this despicable video of the Weather Channel reporter who went to Plymouth, Massachusetts, and completely lost-it during a bout of thundersnow.....

What next, 50 Degrees of Snowplow?

Cantore.... sheesh. I think about the only thing between his ears is a gentle breeze. That is to say, if the man had one more brain, it'd get lonely. And his head would rattle.

I think he's a big part of the reason the Weather Channel isn't a weather channel any more -- it's just another reality show outlet.

LOL! The Weather Channel is to weather, what MTV is to music.
I've tried to get actual weather on the Weather Channel and have waited as long as 30 mins, only to give up and hit the web.
That station is a joke.

My Weather Channel is stepping out side and looking around or the net.  Right now outside is telling me it's 55º and sunny.

Not even a good joke! LOL!

A&E, History, Discovery, Science, MTV, VH1, all gone. Wall to wall 'reality' crap, which leaves you to wonder what sort of 'reality' reigns wherever these shows are produced. (And it leaves us to wonder why there isn't a channel called "RealityTV.")

For online weather, weather.com actually isn't too bad, despite its affiliation with TWC. But there are better alternatives. For straightforward, completely unimaginative, "just the facts, ma'am" weather reporting, I use NOAA. But Weather Underground is gaining credibility in leaps and bounds lately. Around here, I have to be careful what reporting stations I trust. (Example: the nearest WU station to me clearly has it's temperature sensor located in the open. When the sun is shining, the temp readings are WAY too high, typically by ten degrees or more.) I especially like their graphic presentation of their 10-day forecast.
