I'll be watering the lawn tomorrow for the first time this year. :glare:

Looks like you're running a few degrees warmer than I, but you're much cooler than the Sacto valley.
Let em suffer.

I been watering for over a month and cutting the grass every 3 to 4 days.  I was watering 20 min. ever day.  I have now moved the front yard up at the 1st of the month to 30 min and the back and side yard up to 45 min a day.  The back and side yard gets the sun from sun up almost all day long until about 6 P.M.

I haven't had to, we've gotten more than enough rain this year to avoid having to water.
It's a drought year ya know...

Stop watering so much and cut your mowing to once a week or so. Why water and mow, water and mow, water and mow?

I enjoy a very green grass, my lawn is very plush like a golf course.  I have a John Deere riding lawn mower with a 48" cut.  I can do the lawn in about 1.5 hrs.  I only have one tree that is in the grass area that I have to work around.  When your up 17 to 19 hrs. a day at my age you need something to do.

I was going to post a whine picture of my norwegian summer, but watching that tornado video I don't really have the right to complain  :tounge:

Looks like the Bay area here in Ca.
Mark Twain said, the coldest summer he ever experienced was in the bay area, as well as the hottest summer.
I know hat you mean though, back in 1980 the Sacramento valley in Ca had one of those late summers, it was late June before the cloud cover broke.

Looks like the Michigan mitten's wristline to me. Thus far it's been overcast far more days than sunny.

We've had hard rains here for 8 of the last 10 days. <Glub-glub> None today, but beginning tomorrow it's supposed to rain hard again, and the temperature's going begin its climb to over 90F by Sunday. It's 58F here now.

Same here, lots of rain.  Grass and weeds going nutz!  Garden has started in and getting the first picking of squash and peppers of every kind.  So far, I've pressure-canned 10 pints of squash.  Tomatoes and green beans are there, just not quite ready. The okra has got a way to go but be ready to cut by next weekend.  I'll be as busy as a cat in a litter box by then too.      Sis just called and said blueberries will be in next week.  There's a place between her house and mine where you can go and pick your own and pay.  Strawberries have been out for awhile but I by-passed them this year.  Peaches are already out as the shed just above my place is already advertising them.  Corn is just too much trouble and you can get it reasonably during the year so I won't be putting any of it back this year.

* Thunderstorms are currently shifting eastward from eastern Iowa late this afternoon. This line of storms is expected to arrive this evening and will be capable of producing torrential rainfall with 2 to 3 inches of rain possible by early Tuesday morning. This amount of rain combined with heavy rains that fell this morning...may lead to flash flooding.

* Flash flooding may cause roads to be closed and impassible and cause rises on area rivers.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
