Cut my grass for the first time this year.  My neighbor stopped and ask if b o was coming to play golf.  I told him paybacks are hell...
We've been cutting it every week for the last 6 weeks. :glare:

If folk lore holds true, we are seeing our final cold storm of the year.
We had snow on the blooming dogwoods, and has happened for the two plus decades I've lived up here, it's held true, from here on out, temps will be in the upper 70s with sun and allergies.

We are calling for 70s starting Monday through Friday of next week.   We are running 60/65 this week.

0945 and it's 46º outside.  On my deck it's 98º with the sun hitting it and also bouncing off the river in two places.   It's a hard life but someone has to put up with it.   You can almost hear the leaves growing on the trees.     Everything is starting to bud out.

There are still a few clumps of snow left hereabouts now that the 5- and 6-foot-high piles have melted where the snowplows collected it. Temps have been in the 30s and 40s mostly and overcast with just a few sporadic glimpses of the Sun that causes Al Gore to get chilly. There are hints we'll see springtime, calendar notwithstanding. I'll believe it when it's August and I'm sitting in a 90-degree house, and that's WITH the air-conditioning.

Solar did you see this...

Monster El Nino May Be Brewing, Experts Say.

Yes, it's been brewing for several months, and it will most likely come to fruition, followed by an even longer drought, then hit with another ElNino a few years later.
Ca normally cycles on a 10 to 15 year pattern.
Looking forward to it, if it happens, it washes all kinds of gold into the creeks.

We have some rain coming off and on over this week and into the weekend.   Look like you may be getting some snow coming up before the end of the week.

Woke up to rain at 4:00 am, been raining since, had to build a fire, first in nearly a month with the days in the upper 70s.
Though I highly doubt I'll see snow, as they are calling for a 9000' snow level.
But the rain is welcome, makes it easier to use the dozer when the ground is moist.

We will be getting snow at the 3 to 4000' level.  In Washington if you going some place you have to go over a pass.  LOL   Don't forget Dozer Parking 101.

I'll be watering the lawn tomorrow for the first time this year. :glare:

Looks like you're running a few degrees warmer than I, but you're much cooler than the Sacto valley.

Heh. I'd be watering too if it weren't for the 1"+ rainfall today, the third in the last two weeks. I've already given up on my vegetable garden for the year, due to the incredibly late spring thaw and the once-a-week-or-more heavy rains. I was within perhaps a turning or two of having the soil dried out, but BOOM. An inch and a half of rain.

To add insult to injury, perhaps, I seeded the garden with grass a week ago and a system came through and dumped something over an inch of rain and washed away lots of the seed and drowned the rest. I bought more seed yesterday with the intention of reseeding, but I'm glad I didn't get that far in my chores.

Maybe I should just sit back and let things dry out and THEN plant food. God willing, I might get an ear of Silver Queen by the middle of September, when the leaves start falling. If the raccoons don't get it first...

This year, statistically speaking, we're having plenty of rain. Trouble is, it comes in whopping gobs, never just a nice shower. The creek behind my house has been at or near flood stage since the first thaw in late March.

Man, I am so glad we're not getting that kind of rain here. If we did, the next day usually winds up sunny and hot, upper 80s to 90s, with humidity in the 90 percentile range, makes for a miserable nights sleep.

Oh yeah, according to the Marxists, we're in a drought, however, the truth is, we have a storage problem, all thanks to the Dims, in not letting us build more dams for storage.
Hell, Ca is a damn desert for crying out loud, we should be storing all the water we can.

Did I mention just how much I hate liberals?
