Yeah, just looked and it evaporated. We will actually reach the 70s today.
Today I took the good wife out for a ride. We took a ride up to the high ridge (2000'). It is about 26 miles. At about 1500' everything turned white, but not for snow. The fog has been freezing for the last 4 days up there. I live in an area called Horse Heaven Hills in South Benton County.I pulled the photo off the net. This will give you some idea of what I see every day in the SummerThis is looking at Horse Heaven from the back of my place. This is looking over into Oregon from my place.Aerial photo of Horse Heaven This winery is about 5 miles away, in all there are 58 winerys within 1.5 hrs drive of me.
Yesterday was gorgeous, T shirt on all day long, and today will be even nicer. You may find this of interest.http://www.sidelongfilms.com/aridlands/film.html
As a young kid I fished in the Columbia River before it was dammed up. I had a uncle that lived with us off and on when he was working on the McNary Dam and John Day Dam. Also a uncle that worked at Hanford nuclear site. This area was my backyard until I was 15.
It is just after 0530 and it is 27º out. It's is nice knowing, it only has 2º more and it will be the hottest part of the day.
Same weather here guys, but on the other side of the map. Here in SC it is 22deg @07:00.Been this way for a few days this week but colder in the last two with the temp. hovering at about 35deg at peak. Starts warming back up today to about 55deg. and by Tuesday we should reach 75deg. Crazy!Walks, those are beautiful pics. You and Solar have nice places to live. We are close to some beautiful scenery too, being about 7 miles from SC mountains. It's almost time to start seeing those beautiful out of season blooms. The only problem with that is crop loss as we live down the road from a bunch of peach orchards. Last year the peach growers around here lost too much of their crop due to early spring temps.
Wow!! Is winter over with Today was 75º in the sun 56º in the shade. Weekend looks like more of the same. Got the back deck all cleand off and backyard flower bed all cleaned out. Had The Dude (cat) outside with me for about 3 hrs. She was making sure I was doing things right, well in between all her naps. The neighbors dog came over and it was time for her to hit the door. They have a 15 month old Rottweiler now and everything is a toy for him. So she think the door is the right thing to do.
Well winter returned with a vengeance, started snowing about 10:00 am, within 10 mins we had 2" on the ground, knew it would only get worse, called Toy, said come home, she hit snow at 1200' in the foothills and had to drive 30 miles in the snow. She spun out only once but regained her composure and like the trooper she is, persevered home, where we have a solid half foot and more expected.
Look like you will hit again on the 22nd. We are calling for rain off and on. More off then on. lol The dry farmers can use the rain.
Yeah, saw that too, but it is Feb, and March has some as well.I love the cold dry air associated with it, but I hate having to do an Easter egg hunt every time I need something, the necessary tool is always buried deep.
