Looked like your area had problems with run off.  Nice to know it all goes down hill.   I had two maintenance men back about 30 years ago that would take off after a big rain.  On the same day and go mining with a portable vacuum dredge they made.  They did not make much but they were always looking for that one big hit.
I'm going to need a new wetsuit, mine is full of holes.
But I know this rain washed a lot of gold into the creek.

Still great weather here along the SC mountains.  Actually, we are located about 7.5 mi from NC state line.  Any "fronts" come thru, we get them in a hurry.  No inclement weather is forecast locally, but my trusty almanac tells me to be prepared for the latter part of Dec. as we will or should be having a snow/ice event.  Also, two more such events are forcast during the winter until March and then we will have Spring to talk about.  The temp here has been high 60's to low 70's for the last 2 weeks, absolutely gorgeous and definitely unseasonable.

Were finally getting into more seasonal weather, highs in the low 50s, nights in the 20s, with sunny skies.
I used to read the Farmers Almanac, but the last 20 years they have been completely off for weather in the West.

If I were to guess, I'd say were in for a lot of heavy snow this year and below normal temps, while East of the Rockies sees an increase in moisture in the North, and dry to the South.

But then, I'm only basing it on previous Winters in the West.....

  We had a dusting of snow last night.  About ¼" of snow in all.   Started about 1800 hrs last night and stopped about 2000 hrs.  It is almost all gone now.   The top of the Blue Mountains look like it got hit good.     We have not been much over 42º day time and 28 to 32º night time for the last week.    I think Winter is setting in for us.

Got down to 17 deg yesterday, never got above freezing all day, woke to a heat wave of 21 this morn, I hope we warm up before the snow comes, otherwise it will take weeks to melt away.

We hit 44º last night, day time was 47º.  we are in a Banana Belt area, snow all around us within 60 to 80 miles of us.  But all we are getting is a little rain off and on.  Just one day of snow that lasted about 2 hrs and was gone in 6 hrs last week.  In the sun it was 55º yesterday.   If it don't get cooled soon I may have to cut the grass.

I was just telling ST we missed our last chance to cut the lawn, it really needs it, but it was too wet, and now it's frozen solid, would probably break the blade.

My brother lives a mile away in a banana belt as well, the forest looks completely different than my place.
I have predominantly Doug fir, mixed with Madrone, Dog wood, down to Yew tree and maple at the bottom of the property, his has yellow pine manzanita and black oak, and all kinds of bugs that I don't have as well as blue birds, I have Stellar Bluejays, he is also 10 degrees warmer at the same elevation.
And that is only one mile away, funny how it can be so different every mile or so in the mountains.
Difference is, I own a canyon that funnels the cold air from the higher elevations.

We can have have two feet of snow on the ground, but less than a 1000 ft away over the hill, they only get a dusting.

Same here, watch the animation several times a day.
Here's another I like using.
You can do your own area.

I could get my area ok, but just not the farmhouse.  lol
Yeah, I noticed that when I tried to find your area.
I love the way you can slide the time bar and see the weather for a certain time of day or night, but I noticed it doesn't seem to match their own forecast.
Wonder which is the correct one?
