Walks, Seen the Forecast?
« on: November 15, 2011, 12:20:16 PM »
We have an Arctic Express on its way straight down the coast.
Which means, we will be getting nailed with a foot of snow or better.

No matter what, its gonna get freakin cold this weekend! :))

We are getting snow in the passes at 3000' now.  Sorry I hit wrong key solar.

They are call for snow @ 1000' to 1500'  we are at 600' so we may get a dusting.  Sat. call for 37º day time high and 19º for a night time low.  We are stocked up for three + months if we need it.   :))   I got a set of Carhartt bib overall and coat both Arctic quilt lined, for playing with the quad in the snow.   >:D

I know where you'll be this weekend.
I'll be stoking the stove for ST and probably be keeping the road open with the tractor. :-\

Yep you will....   :-*

We had ¼" of snow today from about 12 noon until 3PM then came the rain.  >:(
We do miss a fireplace S T.   But where we live now a fireplace is a fire hazard.  I need to take one of the old TV's and set it up so it look like a fireplace with a video tape.   lol

Baby it's cold outside!!
Hmmmm.... Fairbanks hit with record-breaking cold: 41 below.

The last time Fairbanks residents saw 40-below temperatures in November was in 1994.

So much for the snow, we went straight into Spring weather, sunny and relatively warm (55) at
noon, to last maybe the next two weeks. :o

For us, day time 57 to 43º and night time 33 to 27º  and no rain for the next week.  Mostly Sunny all this coming week.  8-)

Calling for between 22 and 28º at night for the next 5 days.   Time to bring out my cold weather thermal clothing, and put my Spring thing away.   :o

Were battling wind gusts near 100mph, glad I have a forest as a buffer.
But the temps are weirdly warm and will be for a week at least.

Hard to believe heavy snow is right around the corner.

Sound like a strong Chinook wind.

Yeah, pretty much, its a compression wind out of the North, being pushed by cold dry Eastern air in the mix.
Supposed to settle down tomorrow, then I can mow the lawn for the last time of the season.
It is so tall, but it has been way to wet to mow, went out yesterday to see how much it dried out and saw that the grass is full of those really wet type huge mushrooms. :o

I really am going to hate mowing, especially being sick.

I fertilized two months ago.   Cut the grass for the last time about two weeks ago.  And shut down the outside watering system and cleaned it out for the Winter.
