Winter isn't over till it snows on the Dogwood blooms, and those are still a month away.

Love dogwoods.  One season I drove through Kuffel Canyon up in the mountains and the dogwood petals were falling all over and piling up.  Everything was covered in white, it looked like it was snowing.

Same here, my creek is lined with them, looks like a Rockwell painting, and the smell of the blossoms is pure candy sweet, a cross between honeysuckle and rose.

Sounds lovely.  You should post some pictures.  I tried to find a pic of Kuffle Canyon during dogwood season, but can't find one.  It was like driving down a lane in a Disney movie.

I think that drive, and ones through the Pacific redwoods are pretties one's I've ever seen.

Strangely enough, they only bloom a few at a time, so as the last ones bloom, the first ones have already shrivled.
It's my topography. The canyon creek drops about 300' in elevation down into Bear creek and the temperature variation and lack of sun over 6 weeks makes for an odd site.

But as they bloom I will post some shots, there ought to be an awful lot of blooms this year with all the rain.

I'd swear, someone flipped the summer switch.
It's 93 out at the moment and still warming.
It was supposed to hit a high of 80 which is still considered very hot this time of year, but 90's? :glare:

My sun tan is coming along just fine.  The grass has gone from a dead brown look of winter to a full green in under two weeks.  The leave are coming out big time on the trees.

Rain. Rained yesterday afternoon, all night and now drizzle at 57 degrees.
Yeah, it's off of the equator, very warm, very humid, not the kind of rain we want because too much, and it melts the snow pack, but just the right amount, and it saturates like a sponge an when the temps fall, it freezes like a rock, commonly referred to as Sierra Cement to skiers.

We had three inches of snow overnight. Nature's way of telling my wife Happy Birthday....

I'd trade ya, but water content wise, we're tied. We got a a quarter inch this morn, just a steady drizzle, just enough to keep us indoors.

I lived on the West side of Washington State for over 45 years.  A steady drizzle is just something we work and play in or we would be inside all year round.  LOL

Looks like we are dropping down into the high 60's for 4 to 5 days.  Before going back up in to the 80's.  We may even get so rain Thu/AM, time for my yearly shower.  Now where did I put that soap on a rope.

103º in my front yard  :woot:
If tomorrow is like today, it'll feel even hotter.
You have a tropical mass headed your way tonight and tomorrow.
Yes, it sucked today. :glare:
Though we just barely break into the 90s, add humidity like that crap, and we just don't go outside.

I love it.

Sun   Jun 5    103°    Humidity 22%

Mon   Jun 6    105°   Humidity 26%

Tue    Jun 7    103°   Humidity 25%

then back down into the 80's and 90's

Did I say I got a new AC/HP unit for the wife. The old one would not keep up for her.  She has been going through the change of life for the last 35+ years.  I have to wear a heavy flannel shirt when I am in the house.
