LOL! I was just about to post when you posted.

Yesterday we hit freakin 70!!!Today 67 and when I woke this morning it was 55 outside and breezy.
But they're calling for 45Mph winds tonight, so again, an extremely warm/dry night for January.
Snow on Friday...

Well G/W called for it to start snowing @ 9PM tonight, until 3AM.   

As always wrong again LOL it is 2:30 PM and it has started snowing.  As of now it is not sticking just melting as fast as it hits the ground for now.  It's small and not very much coming down at all.  I think it is the fog freezing and coming down as it is only 32º out right now.  High today was 36º so all the ice melted off the trees.

Well we have a Rottweiler for the next 2 or 3 months, as our neighbor has gone South for the Winter yesterday.  They got a late start as the wife had knee surgery and the Doc. said they could go now.  As soon as they go down the hill in the motor home the dog comes running over and stays until they come back home.   

Now I don't know how the dog knows they are coming home.   But that day he will sit under the tree and look and just keep looking down at the road.  When he see the motor home start up the driveway, he is gone like a flash.   It's cool to see.

We've had subtle flurries, but it looks like we may get hit heavy with snow over the next few days. It will probably knock out my satellite.

Snowed in!

Woke up at midnight, turned on the TV, nothing, I thought the satellite was screwing up, then I looked outside, the dish was loaded down..
So far about a half foot+, and more coming. Oddly enough I still have a signal for internet.

Well all we got was about 1/16" from it snowing for 6hrs.  If you can call that snowing.    The winds are coming out of the N for us right no

Well, we're snowed in.
Sure, I could clear the road with the tractor, but screw the neighbors below me, they do nothing to keep the road up, so I see no reason to bail their asses out.
It's still snowing, despite the claim we're supposed to be bright and sunny all day.

This was probably written yesterday. But here's my update, we had a solid foot of snow, mostly packed powder, the perfect snow.
Last night we were supposed to get another foot on top of that, but the snow level jumped up to like 8000' so everywhere got rain on the snow.

Now all the creeks and rivers are swelling, the fires over the summer is sending mud and derris down stream, and in some cases creating mini dams, that will break without warning.
So he's the update, news will be all about Ca Sac valley flooding.

Significant rainfall is occurring over parts of central California at
lower elevations as an atmospheric river and a robust Pacific storm system
tracks inland. Amounts of 7 to 10 inches are expected for this regions and
flash flooding and debris flows near recent burn scars are likely. WPC has
highlighted part of this region as having a High Risk for excessive
rainfall through Thursday morning; which are reserved for rare events
where flash flooding is likely to put lives and property in danger.

In addition to the heavy rainfall, higher elevations are getting hammered
with extreme snowfall. Several feet of snow (as much as 10 feet in total
accumulation) will be possible for the Sierra Nevada through Friday
morning. These conditions will likely cause road closures and travel
delays. Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories blanket the
region, along with Blizzard Warnings for parts of the Sierra Nevada where
gusty winds will accompany the heavy snow. The heavy precipitation is
anticipated to diminish by Friday.

Wow that Jetstream right down on you big time Solar.  You and ST stay safe.   I see the rain water is wiping out part of the Highway 1.

It was fun!
Got about 5" of rain a lot of snow, but oddly enough, the ground soaked much of it up. The creeks are raging though and that water has yet to make it to the valley. Fun times coming for them.

Where are you guys.  This snow is supposed to hit us on east coast  as early as tomorrow  noon.

I am on the South East side of Washington state in the desert area, between the Cascade mountain range and the Oregon Blue mountains.  Sitting on the Columbia river up 500' above the river.  Solar is in California Sierra mountains just West of Lake Tahoe Utah.  I think he is West and South of Donner's pass.

Can't be  the same one.  What you're getting  is behind this one im guessing.  Were looking at six Inches which will devastate those idiots in nova.   We will roll with it.

I have been getting rain off and on for the last 3 weeks.  It's like the start of Spring is coming.   Last week I had snow for 6 hrs. and only got 1/16" of snow, and it was gone when the sun came out.   

But I have one Month of Winter time yet.

Yes and no. What you're getting is our moisture, with a cold blast diving out of the north and will mix for a nasty blast of Winter.
I don't mind heavy snow, but when it's accompanied by below zero temps. That's downright nasty...
Bundle up and stay home, too many idiots don't know how to drive in the snow. I know, I see them over the cliff every year.
