Washington is all out now.  But Oregon has three good size going yet. 

We are calling for some rain tonight for about 5 hrs.   Also on Fri. 13 for about 6 hrs. also Sun the 15th  and Ture the 17th that I can see.  This will have the high ridge farmers dancing with joy.   

Jet Stream visited us over night. We had a 73 Mph+ gust last night, which is unusual because the anemometer is only 12' off the ground surrounded by 100'+ trees. Must have been a downburst of sorts...
I went out to pee at 3:00 Am and it was about 50 degrees, when normally it would be well below freezing, but when I looked up, the trees were bent at 45 degree angles, it was ripping hard.

Still blowing, and now I need to take the tractor down to clear the road according to Toy, there is shit load all over the roads down to the creek.

I just cleared them yesterday.

And now it would appear we have a fire in the neighborhood. This is from the Bald Mtn lookout next to me shooting towards Tahoe, about 2 miles away from me.

They have been calling for snow off and on, but don't have it yet.  I see they are calling for snow on Sat. 12th. from 1AM to 8AM then rain.  Chance of snow is only 30% we need about 50%+ for snow in my area.  But the week is young yet.

We hit 65 today, T-shirt weather and the same tomorrow.

But rain by Saturday and two weeks to follow. Guess the Jetstream really kicked the door open this time. Oh, and no doubt you and I will get snow, maybe lots and lots. Hope your snow blower is ready.

LOL  Now it not calling for snow for the next 10 days.  With winds around 5 to 10 mph with no winds from the North. 

I see the Santa Ana Winds will be hitting lower Cal. for the next 3 days.

  Everyday I check the forecast for my area.  Everyday they say snow is coming and half way through the day they say no snow is coming.  All we had is Fog in the A.M. for the last two weeks.

We've got an out of control "Control Burn" in my area, was supposed to be 5 acres, but it's up to a thousand now and still growing.
But luckily we have rain just two hours out with an inch expected over night, so that should cure that BS.

Well we had our first snow for the year, all of about one half inch. It took 4hrs.  It is now melting and call for rain in about 2hrs.  It's now 38º outside, the snow will be gone before it starts raining.  (IF it rains)

Solar it got down to 20º last night, and they are calling for 24º tonight.  Also calling for snow twice this week, with about 1" each time.  On the 25th and the 30th.   

Well after the snow be on again and off again, we are looking at a nice week at 40º and 50º day time  With some nights in the 40º and some around 35º.  If it keeps this up I will have to get out my short again.     

Did my shopping today so I would not have to be on the road for New Years Eve, or New Years Day.  The drive into town and back today was fun.  About every 20 miles the weather would change for rain to snow and the back to rain.  That jet stream has been all over the place this last week. 

Got up at 3 AM and the house was cold, so I check the heater my wife turned the heater off and turn on the A/C, it's a good thing she can not set the A/C in the winter time below 67º.

Too damn funny!

Well I the Jetstream is coming down from the North 30+ hours.  But the Temp is only dropping down in the low 40º day time and 29º at night.  Call for a 31% chance of snow on Friday night and Sat. A.M. for 4hrs.  Fri, Sat, and Sunday is calling for around 25º night time,  day time is calling for 40+º.  El Niño is keeping the snow away for now.  El Niño occurs every three to five years.  The last significant El Nino was in 1998 is my understanding.
