Fall will start hitting us starting Sat.     I don't see anything over 59º for the next 10 days.  Sat and Sunday it's calling for rain.  I will cut my watering back to 20mins a day, for this month and next month.

But the sun will be out so it will feel like 80º in the sun.

'First real snow of the season': Snow level in Sierra drops to 5,000 feet

Pretty sure it snowed at my house since we hit 33 deg, but melted quickly over night.

I see you guys broke a 100 year record for snow as well. Global warming?...Yeah, sure.

Yep snow all around us but no snow in my area.   We have the Cascade Mountains on one side and the Blue Mountains on the other side of us.  And we are in-between both down below.

Interesting, I have been predicting this for the last 5 years, that is, assuming our weather followed the path it currently took, and it did, like clock work. From drought to record breaking rains, followed by? Yep, you guessed it, a polar blast, at which point, afterwards our weather cycle starts anew and the West starts heading back towards drought for the next 7 to 15 years.
But add to that, a Maunder Minimum starting this year, we could see drought, but not as damaging as past droughts due to cooler summers.

Get ready folks, winter is just around the corner. :scared:

And eyeing further ahead, another brutal Polar Invasion is forecast to seize pretty-much ALL of the U.S. and Canada by Oct 10, lasting for at least 10 days.

This could be big, potentially historic (once again).

Temperature departures are on course to tumble some 20+C below average for large portions of the continent, and the snow line appears set to encroach anomalously far south for the time of year.

All in all it was a breezy night, but at some point my weather station recorded a 72.7 MPH gust over night.
Must have been a 1 second blast because there wasn't a lot of debris.
I'l be surveying the damage to my land later, probably need the dozer to move downed trees.

JUST COUNT THE COLD RECORDS THAT FELL OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS!
OCTOBER 12, 2019 CAP ALLON
NOAA won't want to hear it –I have doubts they'll even log it — but buckets of low temperature records have tumbled across the United States over the past 24 hours.

According to 'unofficial' data compiled by coolwx.com, a plague of new all-time cold records spread across Western & Central U.S. on Friday, October 11. An embarrassment of riches for the cold hunters, almost as embarrassing as that paltry handful of heat records which fell in the Southeast:

What a mess.
Looks like a warzone outside, Winds snapping limbs off trees, the ground looks green because of all the limbs.
Trees going down all over the place, but luckily we only lost one down by the creek, about 100' tall Dougfir, simply tipped over and leaning on other trees, so it will have to come down via the dozer.
Oh, destroyed the fence from flying debris so there's another weeks worth of work in the spring. :glare:

Oh, and yes, they turned off the power again, so I'm only guessing everyone is a tad bit unhappy?

Next 10 days, day time will be 50 and below.  Night's will 32 and all the way down to 14 below.    Talk about frost on the pumpkin.

We don't get this until about the end of Nov or the start of Dec.

"Oh, and yes, they turned off the power again"  Looks like Trump will be getting some more voters.

I just pulled the video from the creek, had an amazing 60 mph gust come through, so this explains the tree falling over.
I don't ever recall that much wind in the canyon.
Yeah, we can kiss the 60s good bye till spring, winter is banging down the door.

Well it's just past 10:30 P.M. and the Temp is now 25º out.  It's calling for 13º for the night time low.  It's calling for low night temp into next week.  This should bring down all the leaves that's on the trees yet. I think we will be having a long cold Winter this year.  I blinked my eyes and Spring was gone.

Libs are freakin out. PG&E has stated they may need to cut power on Thanks Giving day.

But I just got a weather alert warning of heavy snow on Tuesday into Wednesday with several feet of accumulation. With the power out and highways closed? This should be fun...
