Well it look like California stood around with there finger up their ass again and did nothing.  Knowing it would snow again and then have flood waters down stream.

Let not make some large water reservoir for it so their not crying year after year about droughts.  Then ask government for money to fix their problems.

So yesterday was the first day I could get in to town in 15 day.  The main driveway has been ice and snow all the way up the hill until yesterday.  The back way had 2' drifts of snow yet all over, so no way out.   Now the kicker it call for 6 more day of snow starting a midnight.  We are set for the next 40 days before we need to see a doctor for yearly check up's.

We've got a foot of heavily saturated snow on the ground just waiting to melt, then listen to the excuse makers claim it is the fault of man destroying the environment causing all the valley flooding.
Rather than face the reality that instead of building a new reservoir to contain the water for drier times, they wasted it on the bullet train to nowhere.

I spent the last two weeks shuttling neighbors up and over the mountain in my RZR, that was, the smart ones anyway, while the Darwin nominees knocked on the door hoping I'd use the tractor or dozer to bail their dumb asses out. And no, I said call a tow truck, I'm not risking my equipment over your stupidity.
Only helped one, the guy who works for me, and sadly, he is a Darwin nominee that seems to apply monthly for the award.

I gave him a 2001 Chevy blazer 4x4 so he could at least get in town for food. Nearly sundown, he knocks on the door, "Can I borrow a snow shovel"?
Sure enough, got his ass stuck in the snow after spinning out coming down the mountain, guess he did what you might call a 980 deg, spun around a couple of times and finally managed to park it in the ditch facing the wrong way.
He tried all kinds of excuses, but tracks don't lie, he totally screwed up, too fast and not paying attention to the conditions or the damn grade of about 38 degrees, in other words, damn steep.

I truly despise stupid people, but they do have one redeeming quality, they're entertaining as Hell to watch go about their miserable lives.

Count on it!  They'll blame AGW.
This is a very normal occurrence in Ca, where we get monster snow packs, then hit with warm rains.
You heard it here first, at least you know what to expect from the left when the flooding starts, and all because we can't save a little water in reservoirs for when the next drought hits in less than a decade.
By the way, they say some snow melt above 4000', which is total bullshit, I'm at 3000' with a foot of saturated snow on the ground that will be entering the creeks in less than a day, add to the fact that temps across much of the Sierra are well above freezing as I type.
This is a zonal moisture stream, meaning 6 to 7000' snow levels due to normal temps around 38 degrees at 6500'. Below that is billions of gallons of saturated snow just waiting to hit the creeks and rivers.

...Atmospheric River takes aim at Northern California this week...

A river of moisture will impact Northern California this week and
will lead to rapid rises of small rivers and creeks. Flash
flooding will be possible in the foothills and far north end of
the valley with elevated levels of flooding above normal winter
storms of small creeks, roads, low lying areas and many fields
within the valley. Main steam rivers will be running high with the
potential for some spots to reach flood stage.
For the forecasts
of main steam rivers you can check https://www.cnrfc.noaa.gov for
the latest information.

I know, talk about stating the obvious.
Add to the melting of massive amounts of snow, this little equation.
"Three to six inches of rain is expected with local amounts between eight to twelve inches."

Yep, all my snow and another foot of rain? Yeah, they'll blame AGW.

So it was calling for up to 5" of snow from 10 P.M. last night until 8 A.M.   I did not see one drop of snow yet.  But now it's calling for up to 3" of snow from now until 7 P.M.  I don't see any coming down yet.

I should be happy I don't have to clean the deck or sidewalks.

Silly, it's because of AGW, don'chya know?

I was talking to some friends that work in the Tahoe area, from ski resorts to cafes, they said it is nearly impossible to navigate the area.
Imagine 20' of snow, all the regular landmarks one uses to get around are all buried under snow, including street signs, stop signs etc.
I may go up this week just to get some pics of the 30' high walls of snow from the plows/snow throwers as you drive up Hwy 50. Damn AGW!!!

I was looking at the new GOES satellite view, looks like we might have a repeat of the last series of snow storms, your area included.

Funny it's showing everything come up from the South/West.

But the winds are blowing at 20mph from the North for the last 6 hrs.

Check this out. The graphic shows rain snow mix over the summit, bad news for the valley when the flood starts this week.
I still have a lot of snow and it's all rain saturated waiting to melt today.

My understanding you will be getting 5' more snow in the Sierra Nevada mountain regions.

Or more, but rain as well in areas already feet deep in snow.
It's been raining all night and I still have snow on the ground. If we get a blast of cold behind this, the valley will be spared flooding, but if we don't.

Yeah, I smile because Marxists created this problem in the first place by refusing to build dams and flood control systems .

It's started. My neighbor just called to see how his property is doing, he said his area, just South of Sacramento is an island, that waters are rising, though he lives on a knoll and expects to be fine, but other homes are already in water.
Thing is, my creek has yet to rise and it will by tonight or tomorrow when the snow melts.

Yesterday there was about a foot of snow everywhere at 24 degrees. Today, raining like crazy from a Equatorial system hitting Ca.
All that snow is melting fast, all the way to the summit, however it's still a slush until you hit 7000' where it turns into rain.
Point is, the snow pack will act like a sponge and soak up major amounts of moisture, refreeze, then the snow will return leaving essentially the making of a mini glacier effect that will slowly melt into late summer. And they say we're still in a drought and blame global warming.

Anyway, expect to see headlines of valley flooding in Ca over the next couple of days, should be entertaining if anything, as the media attempts to spin a natural occurrence into a man made catastrophe.
The flooding has begun, many communities are cut off due to flood waters in the Ca valley. In fact, the town of Gurneyville is now an island due to the Russian river rising way above flood stage.
I quoted the above post because I want it to be on record for next year when I slam libs over their gullibility in believing the lefts lie over normal weather and claiming this is due to global warming..
