I guess we're not having that early Spring afterall, awoke to a few new inches of snow and still falling.
Sacramento only warmed to 53 yesterday. At this time last year they'd already had 19 days of 70+. This year: 0

Good it will keep them down there and in town.

Now it's 70 up here. :woot:
They called for 60, but that was an average, I guess we're in one of those warm pockets, and this is with snow on the ground.

Ca is more than beach weather, it's a damn desert for the most part.
If not for the Sierra Nevada, the state would look like the Middle East, I kid you not.

Looks like this will be our last night of 32º or below.  Trees are budding out and the grass is greening up a little more each day.  I may need to start watering by the end of the month.

They forecast a week of good weather, all rain going to the north, so I sprayed everything coming up to get a headstart.
one day later, it rains. :cursing:
I have enough for 100 gallons, so hopefully, I'll be able to spray two more times before May.

Lake Tahoe expected to fill up with largest physical rise in recorded history

See slide show 134 photos.

QuoteWinter's unrelenting storms built up a substantial Sierra snowpack and are expected to fill the lake for the first time in 11 years.

Just a years difference....

http://www.laketahoenews.net/2015/03/low-lake-level-changing-life-at-lake-tahoe/

Legend has it, explorers in search of the Pacific ocean asked a local Nevada tribe where "big water" is located, 'using hands and open arms to describe vast amounts of water' and they were told up there, pointing to the Sierra Nevada mountain range.
Tahoe is the word used in the local Indian language for Big Water.
It's not the Pacific by any stretch, but to the locals, it just as well be, it's pretty damn large for a mountain lake.

BTW, what is the latest on the dam near Sacramento that was in jeopardy a couple of weeks ago? I assume immediate danger is passed, but will the Corps and state now ignore the situation?

Damn that GW.

If the lake is to low it GW If it too high it GW.  The old people living around the lake area know it's just Mother Nature at work.

Yep, we always called it Ca Cycles, today it's AGW, yet they can't explain the forests deep in the surrounding lakes when the ten thousand year long drought that hit the West millennia ago.

What a bust! All I got was exactly a half inch of rain, not the potential 5" they claimed, no wind like they claimed we'd get either, it all went North to your area. Hope you got that much needed inch, cause it sure didn't land here.
