We live so far out that if there a house fire it would gone, but my  neighbor has two large tanker truck that can spray water over 150'.   He can refill them in less then 10 min with his water supply.  This year he added a fire hose system that's a 1/2 mile long.    It will cover his home and all his word shops and airplane hangars.  It will also cover my house if needed.   Who could ask for a better neighbor.

Well it's been calling for snow off and on all week now.  But as of yet no snow.  Will get down to 21º tonight and 34º tops for day time Wed.  Lights are up outside and the tree is all up inside.  Now all I need is some snow to play around on the quod with.  Got my Winter Carhartt all set out.  I see some 24º days and 16º night coming up.  So now it's official winter time for us.     But I also see some rain down the line off and on.  Who knows I just may get to put that new snow thrower in use this year.

Yeah, it's 22 out right now, calling for snow at 4:00 pm.
I'm just not quite ready for it.

Wow, not really all that surprised. Closest call I ever had was an arsonist, causing thousands to be displaced and hundreds of home being destroyed.
He got off on a mental, and these kids probably will as well. Watch for the authorities to try and bury this, they did that here, which is why all our arsonist served was 6 months is a hospital, where the snowflake could recuperate.

I have been to East TN and San Francisco.  You could not pay me enough money to go back to San Francisco.

   We have our first snow coming down.  It's very dry and fine snow, with winds at 20 mph.  It should end around 10 P.M. our time.  I don't see more the 1" or 2" at the most for us.  So it's officially winter for us now.

It came through last night, they promised snow, all we got was rain and a snow level at 8000'.
I'm good with that, I have the front door open and it's currently 50 out and raining.

We have a North/East wind coming at us big time and rain coming up form from the South in Oregon.   Looking for 21º up on our ridge about the river. The cold jet stream is just below us in mid Oregon moving up.   

So got 3" in all from yesterday.  I cleaned the deck and walkways with the snow shovel as I needed the workout.  The garage doors from the snow drift is a little over a foot high.  It's calling for more today, so I will do the large pad after it snows today or sometime Saturday as I am going no place.    It will give the snow thrower a good work out that way.

Nearly 5" of rain in the last 36 hrs, and the lowest we got was 49, and now we're back to a balmy 52.

All we got was a dusting over night, just used a house broom for clean up.

Tue. 20th got 2 to 3" of snow, cleaned it all up.

Wed. Night got 4 to 6" of snow with 2' drifts on the back deck and in front of the garage doors.  Snow thrower worked great.

Thur. Night, looks like 2" and it snowing yet this A.M. But calling for sun at around 12 noon.  Calling for 3º tonight and Saturday 17º.

The good news.   I found my garage door opener I lost 9 months ago.  It was in my Winter Carhartt jacket.  I got my Carhartts out to plan in the snow on the quod, and there it was.  I must be getting old.
