Well right now at this posting it's 60º outside and it's calling for 80º for today.  It must be going around us and staying on the West side of the state.
I'll be lucky if I get out of the 60s today.

The Columbia River is 308 feet above sea level just below us.  We are 500 feet above the river so our elevation is not that high.

I'm guessing it was the cloud cover keeping you warmer, we stayed clear and cold, this morning as well.
Feels like Fall outside, even smells like it because of all the woodstoves.

Well today was shopping day for me.  It was 110º out from about 1200 on.  It will drop into the high 90º for about the next 10 days.  The AC in the Dodge Ram was only good for about 30min in that tem, with all the big windows.  You just can not keep the sun out of the big front window.   Going into town you driving into the sun, then coming home your driving into the sun also.  The town is East of us and there no town West of us for about 150+ miles.

Uggghhh, I know what you mean, we are hitting 100 and well for two more days.
I also can relate on the air in the Dodge with a full size passenger cab on an 8' bed that seems to be Hells heat collector, I have the air on full and fan on high, where there's no talking over the noise of the fan, and still, its just enough to ward off the heat, but forget actually getting cold, not with all that glass.

The Subaru on the other hand can make ice within 30 seconds. I'd swear that car seems to have a much stronger air conditioner.
I never really was impressed with the one in the truck.

I have found by cracking one the back window about 1/8" it lets some the hot air out and it does feel some what cooler.  As all the hot air just keep building up and not place to go.

Yeah, I do that when I first fire up the truck, because the average air con can only lower the ambient air temp by 40 degrees.
I have factory tint on all three back windows, and yes, I'v no doubt that makes a huge difference.
You could get those roll down sun shades for yours, that might help.

When was the last time you had your refrigerant changed? I had a friend who owned a Mercedes Benz repair did mine for free back in the 80s, and it made a world of difference in my El Camino, which I've had since it was new in 69, and now parked in need of a drive train.

As last year was hotter I had it all check out last year.  The said it was working great nothing wrong with it.  And that was at the Dodge shop.  When it around 80 to 85 there no problems, it's just when it get 90 and above in the full sun.   The roll downs don't work as 95% of the heat comes through the front big window.  I have the factory tint on all three back windows also.  I had them pull the back tinted window out and put in a tinted slider window last year.  So if I needed to open the windows I would get a good air flow.  The AC just was not made for 90 to 100+ temps for 6 to 8 hrs a day.   The trip over to Seattle was great it was a 5 hr drive, but the sun was at our back all the time.   But coming home the sun was coming right through the front.  I was going to come home at night but the wife changed my mind.

Yeah, that really is the issue, Dodge seems to use the same standard A/C in all their vehicles, and the damn thing just isn't strong enough for that much square footage.

That time of year again.
Just lit the woodstove, clear, sunny and a cold North wind @ 55 degrees, with last night's low of 32 and the same tonight, I figured I better take the edge off the house before Toy comes home and freaks out.

  we hit 41º last night and the wife had me turn on the heat this AM for about 2 hrs.  Then she was calling for the AC by 10 AM.

We don't see the 40's at night until Oct. some time.  But we will be going back up at night into the 50's after tonight.

The cool night are starting the leaves to start dropping some.  About 10 or so a day.

Will be Partly Cloudy in the AM on Friday then sun for the next 7 days.    I will fertilize the lawn for the winter next month.

Truth is, we really don't have that much where I live, mostly heavy conifer forests with the exception of the canyons, so there really isn't that much to see unless you go down to the foothills.
Hard to believe this time next month, cold, wet weather will be the norm and summer will be a distant memory.

My neighbor lives on the ridge like I do, up 500'.   The wind cleans his yard as he has no fence around his yard.  I do so I have to clean it every years.
