Nice to see mom letting them take the lead so they get first shot at the prey.
Our one cat, Rain, was totally freaked out this morning, didn't even come for breakfast, sh looked at me and ran. This is not like her, since we've been pulling in their food at night because coons, Fox and skunks love the free meal.

So normally she comes running when you pop the lid on a can, happy as hell and hungry. I thought it odd, till I pulled the chips and saw the video, it all made sense.
I called Toy and she got mad because I wanted her to see what I had.

You only need to watch the first second, there's nothing after that.
For whatever reason, he was either chasing, or fleeing, we have no idea because there wasn't anything else on the camera, nor is there a neighbor within a mile up stream where he was coming from.

Nor did the camera trigger prior. Was he high?

It is fast...

We've seen this little guy several times, assumed it was a baby opossum, then I thought it was a muskrat, but now we have no idea what it is, the eyes aren't opossum, it ain't a bear or a lion.
What does it look like to you? For size, it appears to be around 7 to 10 lbs, nose to tail, 9", maybe, at best?

I'm jealous.  The trail cam on our 65 acre wooded place here in Michigan only photographs wild turkeys and an occasional doe.  By the way, turkeys are so thick they're becoming a nuisance.  They poop all over the place.  We absolutely love watching the flocks nest every evening in our trees but from now on, we're gonna shoot them away from the house.  They're so used to us, they think they're part of the family!

I know what you mean. My neighbor had his 30 acres of Yellow pine die off from bark beetles, leaving behind spindly tall chaparral. The turkeys love it, there must be 50 or more every night nesting, and yes, making a mess, you can't walk through there.
All we ever see of turkeys is a pack of 12 or so passing through, probably going back to his place to take a dump.

It's funny to watch wild turkeys take short flights through the woods.  They always look like they're flying drunk and ready to crash at any moment.  Hmmm...  Maybe they ARE!

On another note. The wife and I went down to the camp, she wanted to clear some small dead trees, grabbed the chainsaw and headed up the bank.
I saw here wrestling a 30' tall dead Doug Fir, whipping it back and forth, I said honey, that'll snap and hit you, she stopped.

I turned and started to walk away, when I heard her scream. Yep, she saw a smaller dead Fir, gave it a few back and forth shoves when it snapped off in her hands, she went down the bank and broke her wrist.

Got her in the RZR, back to the house and off to emergency, sure enough, snapped at the wrist. She'll be doing surgery next week.

I had to wear a damned mask! Thought I'd get through this bull shit without ever having to wear one. I was wrong!

Oh, and there was video, but she insisted I delete it.

Before I pulled the chip, I was telling Toy there appears to be a huge dog standing with his two front feet together in front of the camera.
It was huge, but really odd, not really like a bear print, seemed deformed.

Yep, it was a bear.
