Well, it probably would not be any awe inspiring speech. In fact, it probably would not be all that different form what my parents, grandparents, preachers, teachers, bosses, all told me. I would probably tell the younger me to listen to them. But, having first hand knowledge of how the younger me was, I would probably still go to the school of hard knocks for my education. But all of that is ok. I did learn, and learn good. As to what I would tell younger people, first off I would have to find one willing to listen, and then I would have to remember they what to be heard too.

Actually, when I was still working, the older I got the more confidence I gained in the younger generation. There are a whole lot of really good kids out there. If we are really honest about how we were, we might just see they are not all that different from the way we were. Biggest drawback I see in todays youth is all the damn mistakes parents are making, (myself included).

Why are we giving them cell phones, unlimited hours on the internet, allowing crap to be taught in schools, and that list is miles long. Hell, it's a damn wonder they grow up as well as they do. Maybe I would tell the younger kids of today to listen, but don't watch the example being set.

Agree.
I realize after writing this, I'd talk to "ME" even earlier in life, tell myself not to sweat the grades in school, just learn all I can about everything, keep up my curiosity about everything.
Maybe pay closer attention to current events in the early 60s so as to have a better memory of the subtle changes being inflicted via Govt. But I doubt beyond personal opinion, nothing would have changed, I've always hated corruption, hence why I've always been a conservative.
Never stop smiling and eat more as you grow.

But beyond that, I wouldn't change a thing, even the pain of stupidity was my teacher, so lessons learned for the future were all part of the package.
