So we will be getting winds around 35mph today and it will drop down in temp over the next day or so (28° day time and 9° at nights.) Calling for 30% chance of snow.  I don't think we will get snow as we need about 50% chance or more before we get snow.

Sooooooooo good luck, the wind is coming from the North and going South.  :o :o  The Blue Mountains will be hit big time again.   8)

Yes they say the Mountains will be measured in feet not inchs.  They have moved the % up from 20% now all the way up around 70% + so me may see snow yet over the next 2 days.  Sounds like ST needs a book or two.   :o

How is it like to read on that?  Is it like reading a monitor?  Is it easier on the eyes?

This would be nice to know, as my wife can read 6 to 8 hrs at a time.

Walkstall, your lady sounds like me. Mr. Mouse has forbidden anymore additions to my library until I go through it and purge. That's going to be very hard, since if I actually spend money on a book, it means a lot to me. Usually I go to my library. I've had a Kindle recommended to me, but I love the feel of a book in my hands, and am not sure if it's for me.

LOL Sorry,  I would not forbid my wife her Library or Quilting.  The books alone would tip the house on it side.  The Quilting keeps it from tipping over.  LOL  For every book she takes out, she bring home 5 more.  But then I do have my computer room.   ;D  ;D

The reason he put a halt on me buying anymore is because it fills three rooms in our house, also my DIL has some at their place, and my MIL some at hers. My library dates back to before Mr. Mouse and I were married, and contains some real classics that I found at yard sales and such. I really do have to go through and purge, he is right (he usually is), because I want to add to my WWII collection, and my Tudor/Stuart one. I don't quilt, but my MIL does, and she loves it. I garden, and hook rugs.

(that's the reason my DIL recommended Kindle to me, BTW)  :))

Since ST is busy, I will answer.
The print is fantastic, you can adjust the text to any size you like, and it's clarity is that of a laser printer.
Buy one, and you have literally thousands of books to download for free, many classics, and many out of print.

if you get the 3G model, you can download anywhere.

She just has the Wi-Fi, but the 3G unit is basically a cellphone.
ST has to go to the library to download, for some reason it doesn't recognize our wireless router.
Up here, all she has to do is pull into the parking lot, and within seconds, downloads 5 or 6 books, it really is that fast.

Hmmm  is it password protected.  I have Wi-Fi also and a cellphone.  So if you get the 3G unit you would be paying for a cellphone also just so you could use it right?

I live out in the boonies, what my kids call a "dead zone"; cell phones don't work at my home, we don't have wifi. From what I've been reading, Kindles sound great, but if I have to go to the library to download, I might just as well get the books.....For ST, a question, or Solar if you can answer: when biographies or other nonfiction books are downloaded, do you also get the pictures/portraits/maps that are in the books themselves? I'm asking because some of my books are illustrated, and are treasures to me (such as a bio of Henry VIII or Charles II).
