He has terminal cancer.
No other details, that's it. We wish him well, but what can one say at a time like this?
Thanks for all the great posts MacMan, you'll definitely be missed.

That is really sad news. He's a friend from another, now defunct, forum.

He has deleted his account in the Romper Room also.

He said he would log back in if thing changed and got better for him.

His list words to me by PM were to the board.   "My best to you all and God Bless!!"

I'm fine now and want to thank everyone for their concern.

Over the course of 2+ months I had lost 20# without even trying to. That, along with other symptoms I was having, led my doc to believe that I very likely had pancreatic cancer.

Over time, numerous blood tests and radiological studies all proved negative for any cancer. Investigating the meds I was on, it turned out that one of the oral diabetic meds I was on was responsible for all the grief I was experiencing. My doc stopped that med and prescribed a different oral med for my diabetes. Within a two week period my symptoms began to gradually disappear and I started to regain weight.

Thanks again to all those concerned,

So was I. Scared shitless. Literally, if you get my drift.

No, I'm staying with him. I worked with him when he was going through his residency 30+ years ago. Very competent.

When evaluating a patient's symptoms, I 'think' physicians will first start with tests to rule out the worst case scenarios, then work down from there. Kind of like the 'flow charting' other disciplines use to figure out what the problem is.

Glad to hear a positive story like that.  Usually the news isn't so good.  Did they do a PET scan?

My thanks to all of you for your concern.

No, Dori, I can't say for sure if I had a PET scan. For sure I did have two scans. The first one was an abdominal CT scan with and w/o contrast as I remember. The second scan was also an abdominal CT scan w/contrast, but it was limited to just the pancreas. When I learned that the second scan came back negative I breathed a BIG sigh of relief.
