I have a Polaris RZR 900 Trail and belong to the Polaris off road group sponsored by Polaris.
They sent me a survey asking what kind of stereo packages I'd like to see in the new SBS, (side by side).
They listed several, all with crazy high end stereo systems, priced starting at about a grand for the stereo, 25 grand for the SBS and graduating a grand each time over 4 models ending around 30 grand for a total package with a $4000.0 stereo.

Here was my response...


If I want music, I have a headset.
But truth is, the trails I run need total concentration and music is a distraction.

But the main reason? I see it as noise pollution on the trail. The last thing I want is the piece broken because of some asshole that doesn't care about those around them.

Want to end a great sport?

Start promoting this nonsense and you'll have everyone that moved to the forest for piece and quiet, demanding more oppressive laws for us off roaders who respect the serenity of the wilderness and our neighbors.
I can only assume you've never lived in the forest.
I can sit in my living room where it's nice and quiet, and some idiot with a huge bass speaker mounted in his trunk can be heard a mile away.
Go outside, and nothing, dead quiet, but go back inside and it comes through the ground and the house amplifies the noise.

This is what we'll have all over the country if something isn't done to limit the volume, and we both know that's not going to happen.

So the end outcome will be more people pissed off at SBS riders.

Please, give this some serious thought.
But if you really want to sell more machines, simply make over all improvements on the machine, that would be my attraction when I buy again.

I am like you IF I want music, I will get a small radio and headset.  On the trail or in the woods is not the place for noise.  Even the big boats on the river with big stereo packages piss me off. 

What kind of stereo are they trying to sell you for $4K?

Some state of the art crap, water and dust resistant, super sub woofer surround stare system that would put most home systems to shame.
They name brands vary, but they have like 6 to choose form.

I can't, the survey closed along with all the material posted. If I see the results, I'll be sure and post them.
In truth, they looked totally cool, well blended, but when you're crammed into such a tiny space, it matters not how good of a system you have, you're only going to hear the speaker mounted right behind your head.
