Hi. Kramarat.  Are Libertarians allowed into the living room?

Hey cwarner,

I would certainly hope so. I'm a conservative, but there's no denying that I have Libertarian leanings. In fact much of the time I feel a lot more  like a Libertarian than a Republican. There's no pretending that when it comes to the fiscal disaster that we're in, the Republican's hands are anything but clean. We need real conservates right now. If we left the military alone, I believe we could ratchet down the size of government 50%, and it wouldn't have much impact on anyone's lives.........................unless of course, you were a laid off government worker.

I have to ask if you wiped your feet? Just teasing. Welcome aboard. Just be careful of the big fat guy that carries a chain attached to cannonball. He thinks it is great fun to tie it to a Newb and throw him/her overboard.

Actually that happens when he is in his playful mood. I only saw him get really pissed that time Bert tried to braid the hair on his back.

I'll piggyback on kramarat's thread since he started this. I'm here with misgivings although taxed assured me I would be welcome. I don't regard myself as a conservative or as a liberal; I think I'm someone who looks for best solutions without consideration of the originating dogma. I suspect that taxed has spent so much time here that he doesn't realize just how much insult is ladled out to "lefties" and "libs" rather than to their ideas. Somehow that doesn't comport with the terms with which we must agree with in order to become members. I'll hang around for a while but I'm a little worried that it will be like the G W Bush administration, where, every now and then, they dumped the most liberal (un-Cheney like) people and their center moved further right.

Sorry if you think this is a little bold for my first post, but life is too short to play games.

LOL, most of think Bush is a lib.

But all views are welcome, regardless, whether it be Socialist or Fascist, all we ask is that when posting, the poster be prepared to back up their claims with facts.
That goes for cons as well.
This is what differentiates us from the average political forum.

No worries.  It is an open forum, and you are welcome to post to your heart's content.

Bush was a liberal (R).

Amazing, isn't it?

Hey passington,
Welcome . I think you're safe here, and feel free to speak your mind. I've been doing some thinking about stuff lately, and I've reached the conclusion, that living in a world where everyone agreed with me, would be a giant f*cking bore. Not only that, but the learning curve would be over with. Your posts are always well thought out, and provoke me into looking at things from a different angle. An angle that didn't occur to me, but one that has merit. I consider you a friend. I'm new here, but if you see someone losing it, right or left, let me know. I'll do what I can to set them straight...........................................or they will set me straight. The reality is, that no one has the patent on being right. Talking about it is important.

Thanks for coming over here. One thing that I'd like to set straight, is that conservatives aren't scary. Just regular people that would like to be left alone to live their lives. Also people that are willing to fight the fight to make sure that everyone else has the same right.

That pretty much sums up the conservative agenda.

As far as I know, there aren't even any secret handshakes. Unless the evil bastards are keeping me out of the loop.

Hi:

I just signed up. You can find my posts in the War and Worse Miscalculation of WW2
threads.

Cool forum. I told some friends about it so some more might join up. We're
all conservatives.

I'm really upset waiting for the SC decision in about 11 hrs.
