2010 Ford F150 XLT, 23300 miles.

Living in Hurricane Alley and having experienced getting run out of Dodge by Rita, riding Ike out, and with Rocket Pup and gear, needed something to haul Momma Shooter, Rocket Shooter, and myself, up the road if necessary.

Figure this will fill the bill.

Perty truck, I assume you don't need 4 wheel where you live?
I got 4 wheel just in case I have to drive over the scum coming up from the Bay area. :D

Nah, I can't really justify a 4 wheel drive. My oldest grandson has one and it is very nice. His Dad has one as well, but I don't go off road.

Nice looking truck. I have my first small truck, a late model Ford Ranger, and I'm very pleased with it. Where I live, 4x4 drive is a necessity in the winter.

What's the powerplant? Decent gas mileage?

We "live"off road.... 8)   He drives the truck.  I drive an AWD Subaru...not always very efficiently.   :o

But very nice truck Shooterman.  Hopefully your wife won't have the problems I have getting in ours... :)

Don't really know, Mac. I don't have it yet as it is still at my daughters house in Richmond, TX. I bought it sight unseen and haven't driven it yet. How's that for faith?

Not being 4wd, it shouldn't be a problem, but if push comes to shove,  I'll put some nice looking running boards on it. She gets around actually better than I do, so I can't imagine too many problems there.

ST getting in my truck takes on an art form all its own, and sometimes turns comedy act, but always entertaining.

I guess I'll have to breakdown and get some kind of step for her, she takes waaaaay to long to get in and out of the truck, especially when its snowing. :D

Your truck doesn't look all that much higher than mine in ground clearance, hope its not an issue.
For me its only an issue when I park over a dip in the road and it adds a few too many inches to the step to the ground.
It tends to effect the gravity around the truck, resulting in a face plant.

But you made a good choice, the F-150 is a proven work horse and reliable, not to mention a far better turning radius than mine, even lights that allow a U-turn are still not enough, I just make the left and drive till I can turn around. :(
I know, I have an F-150 still parked on the property, it was a good truck, just had a couple of issues, but parking it too long took its toll on the tranny.

I've liked Ford trucks a long time. Had a '69 with a nice camper cover on it and loved that truck. Looked at an F150 when I bought that Cheby, but the '89s were Michelle Butt ugly. Probably wouldn't buy another truck now, but with just the Lexus, if anything happened to it, we would be afoot, and there is still the consideration of having to evacuate in case of a hurricane.

I'm glad everyone approves, guys and gals. Thanks. Picked it up at my daughter's house yesterday, drove it home from Houston, and ordered my tonneau cover for it this morning.

Just a quick update. Rocket Shooter sure loves his new pickemup truck. I have to take him for a ride almost everyday. I am thinking about letting him get his driver's license. ;D
