Title: My first photo shoot with a model
Post by: milos on April 04, 2019, 10:25:39 AM
Few days ago, I had my first photo shoot set ever with a model. Since I believe we did an awesome job, I want to share some of the pics.

Adela was a professional model, and now she is a flight attendant. My idea was to create her portraits at the Aeronautical Museum. She's the most dear creature I have ever met.

And her reaction, when after an hour of photo shooting, I told her I would prefer if she looked natural rather than posed, priceless.

When I suggested her she could just enjoy the Sun for a bit.

Cute little flight attendant.

Myself I like the natural look.  She look like she is enjoying herself and what she is doing.
Well done!

Tell her to change the shoes. The Converse All-Stars do nothing for her. She needs some nicer shoes.

Thanks everyone. I believe she did an awesome job while posing seriously in the beginning. But when I told her she looked too posed, and that I would actually prefer if she would look natural, she burst into a laughter, and the next hour she continued laughing and smiling, and we have had such a great time.

I saw on her Facebook page that she loves her Converse All-Stars the best of all shoes. She brought a pair of small boots with high heels and asked me if I wanted her to change the shoes. And knowning how passionate she is about wearing her All-Stars, I told her to remain in them. Because she loves them so much, and I wanted her to enjoy the photo set.

I love the Converse look. Classic, natural look.

Had she been knock down, drag out sexy, gorgeous, no one would have noticed the actual art of this shoot. You captured the "Girl Next door" look quite well.
Milo, you did a great job, the angles, lighting, backdrop was excellent, you definitely have an eye, something you can't really learn.
I know, I was a military photographer and never, to this date, developed the eye you have. Oh sure, I can frame subject matter, but my style is akin to writing an aircraft maintenance manual, functional but dry.

Good job...

It looks stupid. She needs some dark heels to go with the blue jean and t-shirt/open shirt look. It would look chic.

Yeah. Heels would go great in the grass.

There are other shoes other than spikey ones. They make things for high heels when you are at an outside function.

The point is she looks casually chic except for the shoes. I see it all the time. People (women especially) either go out shopping or exercising with those exercise pants on but with bright ass orange tennis shoes. This is the same thing. The shoe's color not only detracts from the outfit but the style of the outfit. The only thing missing is for her to have a baseball cap worn ghetto style (straight brim) to the side.

You're looking for sexy, and that's not what the shoot was about.

Not sexy, but that casual bum look that women can pull off with wearing heels, jeans, and t-shirt. Even if you don't use heels, use different shoes.

Women can't dress casual and wear tennis shoes.

I prefer the girl next door look, far more natural and less pretentious.
Also note the lack of makeup.

I agree.  Makeup and all that should be on special occasions.

Yeah, and I think that's what Milo was going for here, he wanted to show the inner, natural beauty.

Not with Converse All Stars. Might as well color her hair blue, purple, or green and wear stuff from Hot Topic because they want to be "different".

Thank you Solar, I appreciate your input, since you are an experienced photographer.

My original idea was that she wears her flight attendant uniform and poses with the aircraft, but she told me the company does not allow them to wear the uniform for private purposes. So, since I wanted to picture her portraits, the other relevant option was that she poses in her everyday look, which we did here. And yes, she was actually wearing a makeup she did herself at home, and people here believing she was without a makeup proves she did an awesome job even in that regard.

That was the point, she wore a little, but you and I both know, the camera needs a bit to highlight certain aspects of the face, so instead of whoring up, she kept it subtle.
