Title: Murphy's lesser known laws
Post by: kroz on August 05, 2015, 06:09:34 AM

MURPHY'S LESSER KNOWN LAWS:

1. Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

2. A fine is a tax for doing wrong. A tax is a fine for doing well.

3. He who laughs last, thinks slowest.

4. A day without sunshine is like, well, night.

5. Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

6. Those who live by the sword get shot by those who don't.

7. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

8. The 50-50-90 rule: Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.

9. If the shoe fits, get another one just like it.

10. The things that come to those who wait may be the things left by those who got there first.

11. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit in a boat all day drinking beer.

12. Flashlight: A case for holding dead batteries.

13. God gave you toes as a device for finding furniture in the dark.

14. When you go into court, you are putting yourself in the hands of twelve people who weren't smart enough to get out of jury duty.

Preferably for the other foot, if you have one.

No, but I wish I did.

When you guys talk about all these other "boards" I never know what you are talking about.  I haven't been on many boards over the years.  ...... only four or five... of which you never refer.

I really like that about this forum.  After taxed gets through chewing on them, they get unceremoniously dumped!

Are there other boards out there that you think I would like?

No I find most boards you have to hold your nose going in.   I like looking in on non-Political boards also like RV'ing, Camping, and Science and Technology.

At least ten for most of the folks who came here during Week One. You and I go back about 13 or 14 years. Taxed goes back to Windows 3.1. I mean, we all started out somewhere.

Have you all been life long political junkies?  Or was there a point in time in which you got involved?

I have always been politically aware, but only got on the internet forums when my husband gave me my MAC notebook for Christmas in 2007 or 2008.. can't remember which.  Since we were then living in our motorhome, it was easy to go to the first TEA Party Rally in D.C. in 2009 and then attend the large political events across the Country.  We attended tons of Conventions and Conferences and volunteered to help multiple start up organizations at the time.  TEA groups were erupting everywhere.  I was among the first members of the TPP, TPN, and also joined up with Smart Girls Politics, Abigail Adams Group, Black Robed Brigade, Traditional Americans and others.  Those were very busy days.  I got to know people at CATO Institute and Heritage Foundation, among others.

I really didn't slow down that much until my accident last January that put me in the hospital for two weeks followed by months of PT.  That pretty much changed my life.  I had met red_dirt posting under a different name on another forum and he directed me to this forum.

There really are some very nice people on this forum and makes it enjoyable and less stressful than most.  And I enjoy the humor that is frequently interjected.

I became interested in politics the night Sputnik I was launched and we suddenly went from science fiction to a world of terror from space, entirely self-created.

I'm really not that good at the technical things as far as pc's go.  i had better input on my old Dell.  This laptop is a Toshiba and it is programmed from outer space I think.  The only thing left is to be a "straight- shooter"

Worst computer I ever bought, and I paid 3 grand for that POS laptop, nothing but trouble from day one, worst customer service, even talked to the vice president of the company, and wound up telling them I'll relentlessly trash them every chance I got when they told me I was on my own.

Oh, and they actually admitted the lap top was a lemon, not just mine, but the entire Satellite series.

I'll never buy a ToSHITba anything, ever again.
