Solar some time back you talked about how great LED lights were.  My wife and I have been getting cataracts, my wife more so them myself.  My boy and his lady friend was over for fathers day, and the wife said something about the light in her reading lamp.  Well my son like a place in town to go look at tool, so I always take him in for a look around.

Unbeknown to me he pick up a pack of 4 LED 60w daylight bulbs they were going for half price.  When we got home he put one in her reading light in the living room and her reading light on her side of the bed.   I could not believe the difference it made. (for her)  As they are a much cooler lights they can be use in place of a regular 40W bulbs.  Needless to say I went back and they were half price yet.  I pick up 8 more boxes of 4.  I change some more light in areas she said she would like more lighting in the house.

They say they have a 5 year warranty and a average 22.8 year life of 3 hrs of use a day.

I love these things, more light with less watts.
Nearly every light in the house is LED as well as three big screen TV's.
Though I will be replacing some of the LED's more than 3 years old, considering the progress that's been made with the warmth of the light, as you pointed out, you have a piece of the sun in two lights.
I too have a couple of those, and one flood light on the porch that really lights up the area, but I'm looking to replace it with CREE LED lighting.
The light you got is perfect for reading, but where mine is located outdoors, the forest and everything around is seriously washed out, no color rendition at all.
Check out http://lighting.cree.com/, watch the video and note the difference in a warm street light.

Excellent video. Now you know why the Marxist pushed for the 'Smart Meter' to become the law of the land via the DOE.
You know me, I really don't go in for conspiracy, but every, and I mean every appliance made today can spy on you via your electric utility, and with NSA secret warrants, you'd never know what they're gathering on you.

It's why I've stayed off grid for last half of my life.

I have a lifetime supply of incandescent 60W and new lamps I hold in reserve. I prefer that light to LED, admittedly much cooler but in my experience not nearly as long-lasting as advertised. Of course, when Al Gore needs more wattage to run his mansions---plural---I'm sure I'll be rounded up like all the other Electro-felons.

I also have a lifetime supply of incandescent 40W, 60W and 100W.   I have yet to see any light last as long as advertised.  My computer room light I am replacing about once a month.  But it is on about 20 hrs. a day.   Right now M is very happy with the new LED lights, if she happy so am I.  LOL
