How are things going for you and ST down there.  We have rain coming in around 9 A.M. on Wed. to around Thu. A.M. sometime.

We're praying for the rain. The fire is within 5 miles, but if the winds out of the south tonight don't shoot out of the East, we'll escape unscathed,.....this time.

It's an inevitability that fire will come through our area at some point, which is why I have been slowly removing trees from around the house. At first toy would freak out when she'd come home and see about a dozen trees piled up, but now that she's seen firsthand what the term "Defensible Space" means, she's ready to clear another 300' away from the house.

Now she gets why I bought the dozer.

It's kind of ironic. For the past couple of weeks I was trapped in the house because the smoke was so bad, and today it's finally breathable outside, and I have to stay in because it's raining.

It's been calling for rain for the last two days. (50%)  But all we are getting is a drop or two now and then.  I don't even need a hat for my hearing aids.

They say it will skirt around us by fifty miles or so again.  Most of the smart farmer have there haying done for the year.   The onions and carrots are coming out big time now.

That's probably a pretty accurate estimate. Our's will be ending in a couple of hours, but we've already gotten nearly an inch, so, as far as the fire goes, we skated this one this time.
