I love and need my husband...

Loved this.... Toy

Saw this and knew it needed to be shared:
One of my girlfriends posted that she was stranded at a local drive thru and believed her battery needed a jumpstart.
I wasn't 10 minutes away so I let my husband know what I was doing, grabbed my husband's jumper cables from his truck toolbox, and headed to bring some reprieve for my friend.
I pulled in next to her, popped my hood, unraveled the cables, and recited, "Red on red. Black on black."
"Okay, fire her up."
It didn't take 5 minutes.
Two older ladies were watching us in the stall next to us.
"That's what I'm talking bout! Y'all don't need no man!" The one exclaimed from the driver's window.
"That's right! We only need them to reproduce!" I replied jokingly.
I closed our truck hoods and waved goodbye as I smiled at my friend and her two boys in the back.
Then the gentle breeze of correction from the Holy Spirit brushed my heart.
"What if the boys had heard you..."
Oh, my heart broke.
I would NEVER want to make ANYONE, especially a child, feel less than...unimportant...dispensable.

I thought about how much I DO need my husband.
I need him to bear the weight of family when my knees are buckling under depression.
I need him to lift me up when fear causes me to back down.
I need him to be the voice of reason when the chaos is deafening.
I need him to make me laugh when I'm taking things too seriously.
I need his security and the safety he provides.
I need his wise leading.
I need him.
But not only do I need him, but I want him.
I want his friendship and conversation.
I want his firm, calloused grip on my hand and his soft touch on my back.
I want his contagious smile and inside jokes.
I want his face to be the first and last I see everyday.
I want his advice.
I want him.
Everyday.
Now, until forever, I need him. I want him.
There's a lot of women who pride themselves on independence.
There's nothing wrong with being an independent woman...
But there's also nothing wrong with needing and wanting your husband.

And I pray that my son (Grandson) will have a wife that needs and wants him too.
Our men need us.
They need to know and feel like we actually need and want them around.
I pray, not wish because I have a God not a Genie.

Funny how so many women bought into the idea that relationships were a competition, rather than millions of years of natural coherence.
We were designed as a team by nature, a way for us to succeed in life, for alone we do not prosper or pass along our genes and wisdom.

God made us like this for one reason, so we would join and become stronger. Men and women are blessed with certain skills only they can possess individually, and only half capable alone, but together we have conquered the world.

Ask yourself, why would Marxists try and kill off this grand scheme? I know you all know the answer, but it was a question for our younger readers.

My wife is a lot smarter than me.  She has better judgment, better people skills, better mechanical skills and speaks multiple languages fluently.

Me?  I can reach objects on high shelves, can open jars and can carry heavy objects from place to place.

Yeah...  We're about even!  :)

Amen. And this seems an appropriate place to announce that, after 15 years in a committed relationship, my man and I just got married Nov. 1, because we love and need each other.

My fate is the opposite.

We've known each other for over a year, but haven't met as lovers.

Then, a short time (several weeks) of dating and an entry in the vital register.

No churches, no rituals.

This year will be 45 years of life together.

After 14 years of marriage I was divorced in 1976 and never remarried though from time to time I have had long term relationships.  I have always been independent.  What ever the problem was I solved it alone.  Most of the time those men in my life gave me their problems too.  Including open the jar, climb the ladder.  Tell that asshole across the street off for me, will ya, hon?

I have always worked in a powerful and cruel arena where the battle of wits and will can be just as bloody as blades or bullets.  I had no nature to come home to someone else's needs.  My partner of 12 years passed in 2010.  No more.  I'm tired.

I will say that in all the men that passed through my life was one.  The one that would let me come home and bind my wounds if necessary.  Celebrate if called for and generally stand between me and the rest of the world when I needed him

Then one day he was gone.

I am independent.  At this point men are baggage.

I don't have a problem with that young lady.

I have a wife of over 60 years and she is happy with me even yet.   I also have 2 daughters that are married over 40 years and very independent, and they are very happy with there other half.    They set their sights very high in a man, like every woman should do.  Follow your dream and if you can not find a man that will back you then move on and enjoy life.

After two failed marriages I met Solar.  I finally met a man who accepts me for who I am.  A couple of things I have written to him the last few years.... Toy

Today is a day to reflect on love.  As I sit and ponder this delightful word, love, it is you who comes to mind.

I love you for the person you are.  I expect nothing to change, as you have always been open and honest with me and that this is who you are.  The quiet strength you have always amazes me.  While I sit complain and whine of my physical hurts you, for the most part suffer your aches and pains quietly never wanting to worry me.

You keep trying to remind me to slow down and enjoy our life.  But I live in the world of busy and don't know how to truly relax.  Keep reminding me that I don't have to do it all at once or all alone.  You are my strength when the world closes in on me.  You are the rock that God has given me.  You are truly a stable force in the world of (Toy)

My Love,

Although this card says so much...
There is more you should know.
You are the love of my life – before you
I existed and now slowly with your
coaxing I am finally living again.

You are handsome and strong,
fair and honest.   With you I
Laugh deeply and often and
As our laughter mixes my heart
is filled and overwhelmed with our love.

I look forward to many years by your side.
Working and playing toward common goals.
Knowing that being with you is simply enough.

I will love you forever and do everything in
my power to make you as happy as I am with you.

I pray, not wish because I have a God not a Genie.

Awwww how sweet.  Devoted couples are very precious in a throwaway world.

I accepted that I am not the marrying kind years ago.  I wish I had figured it out earlier.   I waa with my last relationship for 15 years and cared for him when he died.  If there are dues to be paid I paid them.

It's certainly good to be independent.

But sometimes, dependence on a partner is all there is in your life.

In 2004, when I was returning home from work on a motorcycle, I was hit. I woke up in the hospital. Fracture and contusion of the right leg, multiple fracture of the left hand, sewn-on little finger on the left hand. Two cracks in the spine, and the helmet and thick leather motorcycle jacket are rubbed right through the asphalt.

Spent some time in the hospital, then they brought me home. And I couldn't even laid down in the bed normally.

And then my wife took care of me. Yes, I was dependent to her. I was dependent to my wife before. And now I remain dependent on my wife. And she is dependent on me. And this is right and good. It should be so. This is why we are called family.
