I will put ours up in about two weeks. Will put the out side light out next week before it get very cold outside. That way I don't have to use gloves.

Thats what nice about having a neighbor(s) ¾ a mile away. lol They don't care. We all have night security lights that make a streetlight look like a candle.

one day I will be out in no mans land,lol..... then I could leave up all the holiday stuff all the time....
Almost finished except for putting the tree up.. Keeping hoping that the weather will reflect Christmas time instead of the 70deg we are having this week. Geeze, folks are walking around in shorts. We had snow on Christmas two years ago.
Elfie, have you started baking fruitcakes yet? Have you ever heard of or baked a Japanese fruitcake? Yummie! My favorite food at Christmas is fruit salad.
My holiday dinner is this coming Sat,8th. It's the only time that no one will be working this year. I am thankful that all are working and well. What more could anyone hope for?
Hope everyone here has a joyous holiday.

FRUIT CAKE! YES! Fruit Cake! The good super dense fruitcake, not the loose cakey fruit cake. Wait, I like that too. But the dense stuff is my favorite. It's like happy meat loaf.

Elfie,
The Japanese fruitcake was a one-timer for my Mom and I don't have the recipe or know anyone who has got it. I will, however, post you the favorite cake of mine at Christmas. It will be posted today or tomorrow in Healthy Living and it is called a Candy Cake. It is made with dates, raisins, nuts and orange candy slices. It is soaked in orange juice that has grated orange and lemon peel in it and the cake is glazed with a similar solution. Delicious! This cake is a bulky one, heavy and very stiff to stir but it makes into a beautiful and delicous cake. Keeps awhile unless well liked.
They don't last long with my crowd.
Good luck with all of your doins' and Merry Christmas!.
