We had a pretty good weekend.  Left for the cabin Friday... Got it all set up and at 9pm went to get something to eat... Himself wanted to go to the little place there. Who's gonna argue with that,,, not I.   Having a nice meal, my cell rings,,, hey whats that lighting you have on in your cabin?   I dont know and what part of the cabin,,,,,looks like your bedroom-it's flickering orange,,,,hmmmmm the tv is on, maybe its that, do ya smell smoke?   no.   good, when ya do could ya call so we can fly back and put it out?   sure but we will be doing that all ready.  ok I'll talk to ya soon.   I hope not,,,yea me to.   so we drive back, I am scoping the cabin,,,there's nothing wrong or out of sorts... get to Uncle Bucks place and 2 guys are working on his 50hp. Its on a pontoon,,, so the guy says well we got it going,,,, took out a bunch of gas with water in it, threw that in the river and torched it, but dont worry it went out before it got to your pontoon and dock, but it did scortch Uncle Bucks dock alittle.... ahhh that would be the orange glow I got calls about,,,he said yep   it was a good fire before it went out. Well next time ya decide to do that could ya wait til we are back with the fire extinguishers before ya torch the river.... oh yea sure no problem...
So I go tell my friends that called,,, let them know,,, they then  tell me about the cityit camper up on the field,,, he went to the tree line to go to the bathroom and thought he buried his cell,,, so he took a matchette with him,,,in the dark,,, so he wouldn't have to use his hands to uncover where he thought he was,,, pretty much took his thumb at the base clean off. No worries though his friends girlfriend dropped him off at the ER...  With that I went to bed.....
Saturday I got the little gardens planted with some salad stuff and I cleared the bank line of under growth so the trees would have a fighting chance at becoming trees.  Himself put new seats on the john boat...well he tried but the big juicy thunder smackers came thru for a very long time.,. and the river rises..... Mr n Mrs Mooch were there.   Can I borrow some rain gear,,,, we cant, do you have and is it possible. lolol, its usual. Thunder and lightening all over,,, they have done no up keep on their camper so it badly leaked and had become infested with mice and ants. Oh man,,,, unreal. also not my problem,lol. Storms quit about 7 or 8.   Made a fire and had a nice evening.   Got up Sunday and quick checked radar. Now we got big and worse coming, I fly to town and just as I got back it hit,,,worse then day before. but it stopped about 2 and got really pretty for the rest of the day ad night. So I went to our workers place and borrowed one of those extension limb cutters.... yea well they didnt like me talking about shimmy up the tree to give this beast a mo hair cut,,,so he helped., got that done,,,,, now we can see the river instead of over growth,,,the boat seats got in finally,lol.   Mrs Mooch came by ranting about this woman who came right at dinner time, she didnt have any food and how dare she,,,,blah blah blah,lmao.... I said yes soemtimes its ridiculous people not being prepared for when they go camping and have to ask for everything isnt it.... went right over her head,lmao.   That night was quiet,,, another nice evening   by the fire just having a few cocktails listening tot he race...lalalaaaa. Sunday I woke up to our dock being level with the bank.... screaming down,,, flooding is about 3" from a possible oh shyt moment. 30 to 80' trees flying, churning circling poppin up out of no where. saw 2 idiots on kayaks, 1 canoe and 2 pontoons full of people with little kids no life jackets. With a river like that only people who should be on it is DNR rescue.  so we watched it and then about 20 poeple showed up at our spot,lol.... Time for a end of the weekend throw down,,, we do that to get rid of extra foods....
And now I gotta make some calls and have a day on the work side... Hope you guys had a weekend that was made just for you!
