I do not believe I have ever been in that cold of weather in all my life.  Hopefully I wont ever have to either.

It's presently at today's expected high, +16 degrees Fahrenheit outside my house, +66F at my desk, and the local newspaper says it's +4F ("feels like -6F") with an expected low of -1F.

:)) I will NEVER forget that tip, Shooter! NEVER!

Walks, that is the only thing I appreciate about cold weather-- but under 70 degrees, I dont wake up sweating any how.

We don't heat the bedroom and Solar likes to sleep with the window open.  The man could sweat in an ice storm....  :)

And you live in a forest in the Sierra Nevada Mtns, did you say?  :o

I feel sorry for you, ST, in such a cold bedroom this time of year. Do you keep your bathroom warm? (I just have to ask this one!)

Actually the one room we do heat is the great room and we do that with a wood stove.  I prefer the kitchen cooler since it heats up when I cook and bake anyway.  The bathroom is not heated.   I have gotten use to it.

We have a heavy cover on the bed and I have an extra blanket on my side.  There is a heater in the bedroom but I sleep better in the cold.  Solar will sometimes turn it on for me but I usually turn it off.

It is an interesting life I lead here on the mountain but I have come to love the simplicity and hard physical work involved with being here.   :) :)

It is one way to wake yourself up at 5:30 in the morning.... :) :) :)

Even in the past I always set my thermostat to 60 degrees during the winter (when I lived alone).  In the summer I would only turn on the air if it got over 100 degrees.   8)

I see!

I have concluded you are two birds of a feather!

Btw, handling heat is no problemo for me and I can cope with 65 degrees in the house in Winter, but 60? Well I can go with 60 during my slumber, ST~~~  but, but, but not while I am relaxing in the recliner unless I have a Snuggie.
