Title: Here is a great tip for all laptop users...
Post by: Cryptic Bert on July 28, 2012, 08:26:30 PM
When someone in another room calls you never put the laptop on the floor because when you get up to see what they want you will accidentally kick the screen causing you to go to the shop and spend another 700 quid to replace the laptop that is only 9 months old.

In that case I shall stay away from all other technology for a few days.

When I say threes, that includes everything from getting a ding in your car to breaking your wife's favorite collectible.

But there is a remedy, ding your own car in an inconspicuous spot, then run in and break that ugly Hummel you always hated. Problem solved.

I know but I am more concerned about my audio equipment than the car. At least until I can afford the Aston Martin DBS. I have already displayed that I am a klutz. I suppose knocking over a class of water onto a toaster that shorts the house and blows up the grid is not entirely out of the question.

We're all just thankful that you didn't go into nuclear physics, explosives, germ warfare, commercial airline pilot, taxi driver.
You and ST have much in common, where accidents are looking for a place to happen.
I hear Uh.,..Ohhhh, at least three times a day, and I just go straight to the first aid kit, before I even ask if she is OK.

I thought I would update you all on the new laptop which was purchased to replace the one I kicked....

I spilled a glass of wine on it forcing me to go to the shop and spend another 700 quid on a laptop replacing one  that was only seven months old.

Here is some financial advice. Invest in companies that manufacture laptops...

I can't take full responsibility though. My cat jumped up on the desk and I couldn't see.

Good move, I cannot express enough, what a piece of shit Toshiba laptops are.
If they were priced accordingly, like under a hundred bucks, then I'd have no issue.
That's all they're worth, it's a buy it and forget it pooter, you buy it and they forget you bought it.
Worst tech support in the world.
On the other hand we have HP, the opposite of toshiba, they back their product and actually make a machine that works for years without issue.

Unless you ply it with liquor in an attempt to get it drunk.

Everyone that I know that has had a Toshiba has had the same issues, the D drive, and the battery. Same as me. I brought this HP home and could not install the Windows 8. The tech support was brilliant.

Add to that list, none of their prepackaged software worked, tech support was beyond worthless, memory failed twice, once out of warranty, constantly overheated on a daily basis, power supply got so hot you couldn't pick it up.
Constant freezing from over heat issues.

I bought a Dell PC and Toy an HP notebook and both have worked flawless and tech support were actually here in the US for both.
I have nothing against Japanese products, just crap from Toshiba.

I will be posting a video I'll be making this Spring, on how to fix Toshiba Satellite laptop issues.
The opening will explain that you need the correct tools to fix your problems quick and easily.

At which point, I pull out my 12 Ga shotgun and put it out of my misery permanently, problem solved.

Seriously, I hate their product that much, that I will be doing this.
