I wish all a safe and happy Thanksgiving. It is my favorite holiday as it designed for us Americans and expresses our thankfulness for the bounties of our wonderful country. Will have three additional people and dogs in the house for a total of seven dogs. This year I am not doing a turkey on my Big Green Egg, but buying a fried turkey from Bojangles. First time I have done this, but one of my wife's tennis buddies suggested it We shall see.

Enjoy everyone.

We're having two dinners this year.  Invited to friends tomorrow and doing our own at home on Fri.  Must have leftovers.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Our turkey is coming freshly slaughtered from the in-laws farm.  They have a very small flock that gets all the people table-scraps (in addition to the usual), makes for interesting tasting meat.

I wish everyone a Happy and safe Thanksgiving. If you are travelling, have a safe trip.

We're having a 20+ lb Ham, raised it ourselves, and a small Turkey, plus all the other stuff(ings).

This is also our favorite holiday of the year, a time to give thanks for God's blessings, new life in Jesus Christ, and recognition of His generosity (inspite of ourselves).

God has been so good to me, and my family.

First in Salvation, without which, I was destined for the worst sort of life.  Where my best effort failed, Jesus changed my heart in 1984.
Second in giving me the perfect woman, more than my equal, but my best earthly friend, lover and mother of our 8 kids.
Third is the Eight children God has blessed us with.  Despite my doubts... sometimes, they have brought much joy and humor into our lives.
Fourth is God leading us to some of the finest Preachers in America, men that truely love God, and have given their lives to stand tall for Him, in the smallest of places, against the naysayers, they have captured the hearts and minds of many.
Fifth is a nice little Farmette, though sorely neglected, it has slowly becoming the provider for my family.
Sixth is a JOB that provides enough - barely enough to pay the bills, keep the heat & lights on.
Seventh is finding hope for America in THIS forum, and Ted Cruz.  While say the best years are behind us, I am very optimistic for America when honest people of high caliber step up, willing to serve and redirect this nation back to it's roots of Freedom, Liberty, Justice, and God.

God has been very good to me.

When I was a kid, we had a small poultry farm near by.  Just had to give them a little notice when you wanted your bird.  My Aunt's sister also had a turkey ranch.  Those were some of the dumbest birds.  She's the one that used geese like guard dogs.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody.  Stay safe.  Solar and I will be kicking back here on the mountain.  I plan on breaking in the rotisserie on the new grill with a nice little turkey.

It's always a pleasure to wish each of you here well.  May all of you experience a wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving.

I'm especially thankful that there are patriots posting to this forum.  I can imagine what your holiday will be like.  It is good to know that no matter what else happens, we can find solace for ourselves here knowing that there are people out there who share a common bond.

My hope is that this country will continue to expose the evil doers and deal with them accordingly.  I have every hope that the patriots, like the ones posting here, will take back our country with it's unique assets and set straight the original intents of our founders.

My youngest son has had this year's celebration planned for over a month.  Not hard to figure out what his fav holiday is either.  He has cooked a turkey and a ham and "invited" me and his sister to cook all the other stuff.  We'll have to eat in a hurry though because football will be the order for the rest of the evening.  But, that's ok.  I can't imagine celebrating this day any other way than this, typically an American celebration.

God Bless America!

I am thankful for my freedom, my wife and my health. I am grateful that I was born in America and enjoy its many blessings (including my absolute right to make a total fool of myself on anonymous internet fora). I can think of no other country I would rather have been born in, or any other time-span/era.

So eat well and laugh long this day of thanks. Recall those who helped secure you this day of remembrance, and the bounty we have carved for ourselves from the primeval growth of "indian" days. Recall the friendship of strangers and the farming tips given to settlers by their native hosts. Recall the spirit of good will, when bloodshed could easily have happened instead.

Recall America at its purest, its least refined. Recall the hardships of that nightmarish voyage which brought those dissidents to our shores and the religious battles we committed against ourselves until we finally learned God is good, we don't have to worry about denominations.

Happy Thanksgiving day!  Have fun and stay safe!

I made the bread dressing this A.M. then put it in the bird.  I put the Turkey in the oven at 9:30 A.M., it should be done by 4 P.M.  We will be eating Turkey sandwiches and Turkey soup for the next week.

All was going relatively smooth, bird all prepped, oiled up, wings and legs tied, rotisserie in place, and low and behold, the propane tank was empty.
Toy not happy. She just went to fill the little tank.
