Does bring back a lot of old good memories.  Now if they could do that for the 30's and 40's.    :woot:

The ladies of CPF might find this one of interest. I snagged it trying unsuccessfully to find anything explicitly geared to the 40s or earlier. But this was, horrifically, actually done to women on their own demand. See the shocking details unfold!

Oh wow, did that bring back the memories.

My Mom was a professional hair stylist in the early 50s and she did similar hairstyles.  She did those waves when the hair was still wet.... setting them with the wave clips like he used.....but her finished product looked much better.  She did not leave any of the ear exposed as he sloppily did!  She put the woman under a hairdryer to set the waves.  That is what made them last for several days.  This man's style would only last one day.

Thanks for the memories, quiller!!

My mother had her head overhauled once a week at a place with inadequate ventilation for all those chemicals they used to use. There I was, eight years old, staggering into walls waiting for her to be done, staring at all those pairs of eyes staring back from under a metal hood...

Night of the Living Hair-Do.

Yes, I remember going to work with Mom a time or two during the summer school break...... the chemical smell would kill an elephant!!

Back then I thought it was an awful place!!!  I was about eight years old also!

Thanx for reminding me that we only thought we had problems back then.  This was a great revisit for me.
