Get a Tissue

The next time you catch yourself crying on a street corner, just hope that Maria Sanchez is taking clandestine photos of you.

Last week, Dave Thomas, a San Bernardino man, was briefly jailed for failure to appear in court for traffic violations, leading to the impoundment of his dog on Feb. 13.

Upon release, Buzz Lightyear, a 2-year-old pit bull mix, was waiting for him at the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter. But Thomas couldn't pay the $400 to get his pet back, KABC reported.

Just as Thomas found out he couldn't get his dog back, Maria Sanchez, a photographer at the shelter who happened to be watching, captured the scene on camera.

I would love to rescue a shelter dog, but HG is concerned (and probably correctly) for the safety of the kids.  Plus, where we live there is no shelter, the animals are fostered by many families, so adopting one isn't easy.

All my dogs have been rescues, and nearly everyone has had some form of phobia or another that needed to be overcome.
Everyone had been abused, some mentally, physically, others simply neglected and never socialized, but with hard work and dedication, they have all turned out to be great animals.
But I agree, a rescue dog around kids could turnout to be a time bomb.
Not a Lab guy myself, but a Golden is a great dog for kids, they can outlast most of them and wear them out by the end of the day and ready to play the next.

Throw the ball, throw the ball throw the ball throw the ball throw the ball throw the ball throw the ball throw the ball throw the ball throw the ball throw the ball...

Eat, sleep, throw the ball throw the ball and the rest of their life is a repeat of the day before.

We had a golden growing up, she was my red's hunting dog and was just wonderful.  She thought she was a lapdog  as soon as dad took the gun out though, she was all business.
I know that HG will make a good choice, maybe next spring.

Dogs are no different than people, dogs need a job, it's what they live for, to feel they are contributing to the pack.
Just like people, take away their drive to produce (welfare/foodstamps), and you kill their spirit, something libs just don't seem to understand.

You could teach her how to plant flowers.     Hoss has not learned that porcupines are not his friends yet.    If it don't move it's a toy, if it move it's a toy.

Our last rescue was a mix mut that had been abused, everything scares the Hell out of her, can't even move the furniture without freakin her out.
She's a smart dog, just always afraid she did something wrong.

O/T...kinda.

Libs do understand insane levels of envy against those who succeed. I'm going through that elsewhere on a writing forum where the moderator (leftist troll) cannot stand it that I managed to finish what I'd actually started, to produce an E-book. (  )

Liberals bleed envy. And hate. And bitterness. You can screw with their heads just by asking them to name 10 things they like about America which are not available in a socialist country.

On a message forum, that list rightly begins, because you are still free to read it here.
