When it comes to informally communicating on the internet, I don't usually point out if someone misspells or uses the wrong word. It happens. I just can't stand run-on sentences. No punctuation. No capitol letters.

I tend to agree, but as far as this forum is concerned, proper grammar is extremely important in the sense that thousands of readers come here for facts.
If someone won't, or is incapable of using proper English, no one will read their posts. I know this to be true, and I'm one of them, I ignore a shitload of posts after the first sentence, be it bad structure or punctuation.
They aren't worth my time.
