A 73-year-old Florida man was fired from his job at Cracker Barrel earlier this week after he gave a corn muffin to a man who looked homeless.

Vietnam veteran Joe Koblenzer had worked as a greeter at Cracker Barrel for three years before he was fired for handing a man who "looked a little needy" the muffin.

The unidentified man came through the door and "asked [if] I had any mayonnaise and some tartar sauce," Koblenzer said. "He said he was going to cook a fish."

"I got it for him. As I walked out I put a corn muffin in" the same bag. Shortly thereafter, the restaurant's general manager called him into his office and said he was fired.

The restaurant released a statement claiming that the general manager fired him because he was a serial offender.

Fuck you, Cracker Barrel!

This is probably fodder for the MSM Distraction News forum, 'cause that's all it is. (Actually, this is Facebook crap.) I mean, read the WHOLE story. The dude had been nailed FIVE times breaking the rules. You can say the rules suck, but how does that give you the unlimited (and unsanctioned) right to break the written rules governing your employment?

There's a term in the law -- "knew or should have known" -- that applies to cases exactly like this. You can bet that the old dude was or should have been in possession of printed documentation explaining to him in the clearest terms mucksucking lawyers can manage that he was simply not permitted to do what he did -- UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. Considering that CB let him slide four times before for similar violations of company policy, it's hard for me to get all worked up in the guy's behalf.

FWIW, the mayo and tartar sauce packets probably cost the store more than the muffin did. But that's beside my point....

Yep.
I read this a few days ago, and I too fell for the title, which is completely irrelevant to the story.
The guy gave away something that didn't belong to him, he didn't pay for it out of pocket and give it to the guy, no, he stole it.
There are consequences in life to ones actions, and I'd say the Cracker Barrel was pretty lenient, too damn lenient, I'd have fired him 2nd offense.

Agreed. One warning and then gone (at light-speed) on #2.

Yep. When I see Rawstory, I see Marxist agenda, and to title it as "Vet" is just low and dirty, it had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the story.

The story was to raise the ire on the right against Cracker Barrel, which happens to be a Conservative run company, in attempts of killing it's business.

Libs will always sink to the lowest point, even if it makes them look stupid, they just don't care...
