Quoting my wife from a few minutes ago: "I would rather have each fingernail and each toenail ripped out one at a time before I would go shopping on Black Friday."

When she's right, she's right. I gave her a round of applause.

Toy stopped by Safeway to pick up my favorite ham, clerk stated she was the 10th person in the store all morning long. This Superstore usually has a minimum of 100 plus shopping at any given time.
Let the fools wait in line to save a sawbuck on a TV, I'll be grocery shopping this time next year when no one is around.

Himself asked me this morning if I was going shopping today, I told him I dont do mall rats and zombies.
The only safe place to be anytime this weekend is ,1 the grocery, 2 the hardware store, or 3 the walgreens.  They just dont make enough sharp instruments for me to go out.  I will wait til Monday when the zombies go back to work and the mall rats are back in school.

I'll take exception to your #2 above. I had to go to my local Ace Hardware store yesterday (Black Friday) to pick up a mantle for a kerosene heater. I've been going to that store for more than six years, but I've never seen so many people shopping there as I did today. And as I walked through the crowded parking lot, mantle in hand, the sound of the chainsaw trimming Christmas tree trunks out in the lawn & garden area was constant.

I didn't really have to wait at the checkout, but every single register was open, another thing I've never seen there before today.

You're right about the groceries and the drug stores, though. In fact, they're kinda quiet right now.

Wait 'til next week -- welfare and SS checks.  :scared:

Oh boy, your Ace had trees.  Mine doesnt, mostly people looking for the usual stuff.  It's rather nice.  Later I do have to venture out and get to the plant store.  Need some fertilizer . Oh and some dirt, gotta transplant. I will take the non retail road lol.
