Did the reaction of the Christian/Conservative community to this guy's announcement Angie's List would not expand its IN headquarters due to the RFRA lead to his quiet expulsion from the company?

"Bill Oesterle, co-founder and chief executive of Angie's List, announced he is stepping down from his position just weeks after the company took an outspoken stance against Indiana's Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

Oesterle's announcement comes after Angie's List decided to withdraw a proposal before the Indianapolis City Council to expand its headquarters. Angie's List provides consumer reviews to its subscribers for a monthly fee.

The Indianapolis Star reports that Oesterle, 49, has been with the company for 20 years and its only CEO. He has been politically active as a Republican in Indiana, even working on the 2004 campaign of Gov. Mitch Daniels, R-Ind.

According to USA Today, Oesterle told employees in an internal message, "I have decided to step down as chief executive officer to pursue other interests, including becoming more civically involved in the State of Indiana."

The Daily Signal previously reported the American Family Association and Family Research Council called for supporters of religious freedom to "Take Angie Off Your List" in a boycott of the company.

Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council, said in a statement that Oesterle "jumped on the left's misinformation bandwagon, using his company as leverage in the fight against religious liberty.""

Angies List must be suffering from a drop in popularity because they no longer require people to join (pay) to get their info.  That is a pretty big deal.   Maybe they are relying upon other avenues of revenue.

I used to use it but stopping paying to play!   Actually, I quit trusting their information!

?? Last time I checked -- about two minutes ago -- Angie's list requires a membership fee to use the service.

That is interesting!   Their TV ads are saying the opposite.  Have you not seen the ads?

Angie's List started in Columbus, right down the road from me. I'm more familiar with it than I'd like to be.

It started as a listing people could use to find reliable contractors and servicepeople. Like Google and Facebook and a lot of other internet phenoms, it has become an outlet for political correctness. In this case AL milks both sides of the service for money. It costs to be a consumer of services, and it costs (more) to be a provider of services.  What was a little local service a few years ago now is handling nearly $100 million a year.

I don't care about their ads. I encourage you to visit here to see the current rate schedule for consumers.
