Talk about an epic TV spot for a tiny company! But there's more---this company won out over scores of other small businesses....

This one's for Walks.

N ordered a pound and it arrived one --- count it, ONE hour after I asked her to order a pound.

Using her Melitta pour-through coffee maker (and grinding these fantastic-smelling beans to the tested optimum for that unit), my Caffeine Queen adapted a Lifehacker.com recommendation of one gram of unground beans for every 21.7 grams of water. For my official Cops and Donuts mug, that came out to 14.3 grams of ground beans and 311g of water, producing a brew that will have me pacing the floor --- double-speed!

Interesting company. The deluxe bag comes in a deluxe box along with a decal, and also the cutest little stress-reliever black plastic football with their logo on it. Seriously cute and masculine at the same time. Darned if I know how they did it but they managed.

It's a dark roast. As if that part matters.

I'll stop now before this hits the 3,000 word mark. I know I can do that. Seriously.

Sometime last week, a Facebook friend posted about running down the street after the postman because he had her package of Deathwish coffee on his truck and left without delivering it. She didn't have a coat and was in her house slippers in the middle of winter. I looked them up online and ordered a pound on January 28th. Their email that provided a tracking link for the shipment said expected delivery was Monday, Feb 1. I checked the link when I got home from work last night (early this morning) and the package was in Allen Park MI as of 10pm last night.

I got up this morning and saw the note my husband left asking me to order some, and told him I already had it on the way. Then he brought in the mail and there it was! The dark roasted beans are very oily, and they smell wonderful. I made his cup and then made mine. I've had about 3 sips out of my mug and I feel the caffeine buzz already. I may not be able to finish this mug before it cools.

 Sounds like you will be up all night.

My son got involved with roasting coffee beans when he was just out of high school.   So I will pass this on.   He  is a Architectural Designs now.

Here is a pic of the football.

And yes, they sell it for $19 a pound. You can get discounts after you sign up for their email newsletter, though.

I just drink more coffee.  Or go out and cut one or two acres of grass.

I learned this is precisely as advertised: very, very powerful coffee. I got through 3/4ths of the mug and realized I'd hit my caffeine limit at roughly one regular cup. I was still buzzin' along, four hours later.

Cheapskates like myself can stretch a $19/lb. bag of this stuff for a long time, making it by the cup. Me, I swill down a couple of pots of regular brew a day...but stopped (in good cheer) at one cup of this.

Fascinating. I drink only unleaded now, no full octane (it was messing with my ability to sleep). Not to darken the light of day, but one of my coworkers who does RedBull by the case, went to the hospital Monday 'cause he thought he was having a heart attack. To be fair, he has a history of heart trouble so maybe it wasn't the caffeine that was the problem.  But the doctor told him to ease off the high octane anyway. Anybody ever had Copi Luwak? It goes for like $165 a pound  which works out to be something like $10 per-serving, and I can't believe any coffee could be worth that much (although some sorts of Starbucks costs that much per-cup or more- especially at sporting events or concerts, etc.)!
