Title: Obama blames Constitution for his inability to carry out his agenda
Post by: Robert H. Lee on May 29, 2014, 01:49:23 PM
In a recent fundraiser, President Obama blamed the Constitution for his inability to carry out his agenda. He complained that large states have as many Senators as small states.

Once again, Obama is directing blame away from himself, this time to the Constitution-but he does have a point. I think the time has come to reform the Constitution so that the number of Senators matches the number of representatives and it should he based on the population of each state. Why then do we need a Senate?

In my book, "Saving Democracy from Suicide,"  I propose basing the number of Senators on population. But I added a twist. I suggested that voters for Senators get votes proportional to the amount of taxes they pay. This is to correct the structural flaw that afflicts all one-man-one vote systems - the propensity to elect politicians who spend, tax and borrow.

A lot of you wont agree with my ideas on this, but something drastic needs to happen. You can read the rest at my blog:

Linkectomy performed in under 2 minutes! I'm impressed!

To be honest, I have not read CPF's policy regarding linking articles in one's personal blog or putting a link in one's signature. But I've known for something like 10 years that doing either in one's first post will lead to a swift linkectomy, and probably to an equally swift banning. IOW, briefly, I know better. Also, this is common knowledge in discussion forums, not arcane or obscure.

The Senate and House were designed to give power to popular majority (the House) while impeding a tyranny-of-the-majority (ideological or regional). Without the Senate's equal representation of each state, strongly liberal populous states could band together (e.g. CA, NY, NJ, IL, MA) to oppress the many less populous rural states (who feed, clothe, and shelter citizens of the populous states!).

IOW, to be blunt, the USC designed Congress to impede tyrant-wannabes like BHO! It's almost as if the FFs knew some one like BHO would come along. Or maybe they simply understood human nature.

Point well made. From the time Obama came onto the scene he has complained about the restraints of the Constitution. Our fore fathers understood tyranny and purposely designed the constitution to protect the people.

Good. Thank God the Constitution protects both the States, and the citizen from socialist government. Which is just yet again, a demonstration of the genius of our system of Government and those Judeo-Christian Deist men who first created it.

The law and the Constitution always get in the way of Democrats and the tyranny and Communism that they want to inflict on America.
